  1. I've been going to Planet Fitness 6 days a week for 3 months now.  I'm not sure if this place is amazing or if I'm just amazing in this place. ;)

So thankful for VSG and getting in the proper mind set,   I'm 100lbs down and running for a consecutive hour.  I never thought this life was possible.

    First 5K walk completed

Try C25K, its a free downloadable app or you can find a C25K schedule online. I did this and it really helped me. I went from walking a 22 minute mile to running a 15 minute mile in less than 3 months. My endurance has increased and I can now run for about an hour straight without stopping. It has been integral in my overall health.
  4. I love and like my surgeon. I think he is an amazing person. He is supportive and positive. He is one of my biggest cheerleaders. He showed that he believed in me and as a result, I often think about him when I might be doing something off plan or if I don't go to the gym on a day I normally would. I worry I might be letting him down.
  5. Operating Rooms are also sometimes called theatres, but mostly that is from operating rooms with observation areas.
  6. Yesterday was my day!  After 10 months and 14 days, I can  now officially say I am 100 pounds down.  Forty more to go before I consider plastics.

Cereal and the soft foods diet

Totally agree! My soft food phase samples included soft cheese and crackers and I ate the heck out of all 4 crackers....lol. This is a very personal journey and only the person living it understands their ability to control themselves. I think that its hard for some (including sometimes myself) to look beyond their journey and the way they do things and answer the questions objectively.

Cereal and the soft foods diet

I also have not touched cereal, but I'm not opposed to it. The point is to control it and not let it control you.

    How are people losing 10lbs/month?!

I am 10 months out and I am an exercise beast at this point. I work out for an hour a day, 6 days a week and M-F, I walk a mile on break at work. On my "rest" day , I am generally still active. I gat anywhere from 12K-24K steps a day. I'm working on bumping up my calories because I am in one helluva stall. I eat about 1200-1400 calories per day Post workout - Premier Protein Shake Breakfast 1/2 cottage cheese Morning Snack P3 Turkey, Ham, and Cheddar Lunch 2-4 oz of meat with veggies and/or a low carb snack Snack - String Cheese Dinner 2-4oz of meat with veggies and a low carb starch. That sums up about everyday in my world.

    How are people losing 10lbs/month?!

10 months out 93lbs down. So technically 9.3 lbs per month on average, but the truth is, I lost the majority up front and then for the last few months about 4lbs a month. I'm running and doing strength training 6 days a week. I'd rather be strong than skinny anyway. Good Luck.

    Cold Feet

@Walter.Sobchak Hang in there. 10 months out and still the best decision I have ever made. It's scary, but I cannot explain with words how much more rewarding life is on this side of surgery.

    Needing to loose 10 pounds

@lovergurl , @Introversion Thank you for the advice. I had the same concern, but calls to the Nut have gone unanswered. I guess if I don't hear from him today. I'll try a bump up and see what happens.

    Leftovers, eh, not interested!

I'm a leftoveraholic. but I also pre-cook for the week on Sundays. I make whatever we are going to eat for the week on Sundays and get to it all week long...lol

I love the Food Channel! Never watched it prior to surgery, but now it's like how I imagine a porn addiction to be,

    Needing to loose 10 pounds

I'm going to disagree, respectfully. I'm eating 1200 cal per day, In the gym busting butt for an hour a day 6days a week, plus walking a lunchtime mile everyday at work. On the weekend, I'm hiking with my family and generally active. I achieve 12,000 to 24,000 steps a day. My calorie burn is 2900 - 3500 everyday. I have lost 4lbs since July 23. Something more complicated than "basic math" is at play here.

  20. I have been S L O W L Y losing weight since May. I have lost a total of 10lbs since May. I am 95 down since surgery 10 months ago. About 60 days ago, I started putting my money where my mouth is and started seriously working out an hour a day 6 days a week. I usually start with 30-40 minutes of cardio (running) and finish the last 20-30 alternating weight/strength training (arms, legs, abs). I have noticed real physical changes, my skin is now starting to become hella loose, but..no real weight loss. My diet is tight at 1200 cal per day, I am taking all my vitamins, and I am consistently at over 100 oz of fluid per day. A friend of mine who has not had WLS has been going to a kickboxing gym, 3 days a week and is not regularly watching her diet, she has also lost very little weight, but the gym owner told her that they usually do not start to see real weight loss results until after the 3rd month because your body freaks out. Could that be what's happening to me? I'm not going to give up the gym because I am so much stronger than I was 60 days ago, but it is frustrating to work this hard and see tiny results. Any thoughts?
  21. ANOTHER long stall finally behind  me.  I lost 2lbs in the last 4 days.  I am only 5 itty bitty pounds away from 100 lost.  My 10 month surgiversary is in 4 days.  100 in a year was all I ever wanted.

    Premier Protein!

Me too, but they go on sale there quite frequently. I have gotten them for 12.00 before.

    Premier Protein!

I also thought the vanilla was too sweet, but I started adding 2 drops of orange extract to it and it tastes like a Dreamsicle.
  25. For me it was about being as normal as possible. I never had mood swings. One thing that you can do that was a huge help to me was just understanding that life is different in some ways. Sometimes in the beginning, we overthink, and over-complicate things...just be patient. If we were out and about, I would carry a cooler pack that had food and drink options for me in case we were in a position that we were out and I needed to push protein or felt hungry. (They told me I wouldn't feel hunger. I call BS on this, I have felt hunger since 2 weeks out.) Let your partner guide the recovery. Just being supportive may be all it amounts too. I never had a breakdown over food or anything. Just prepare yourself for the life that is going to be coming. In less than a year, I have changed from bump on a log status to go go go go go. It's a wild, amazing ride. Try to enjoy it together,
