  1. I was sleeved on the 1st so one week in. Surgery at 9am and out the door by 1pm! Incision pain is causing me to sleep on my back so bad sleep and back pain. Plus all the uncomfortable little aches and pains, dealing with stomach gas, exhaustion, tired of sipping...but I could not be happier!

Are you taking pain meds? Feel better soon

Yep, I'm a stomach sleeper too. Good luck with surgery on Monday! I have to say, I had a lot of fear about the procedure and first few days of recovery, but it really has been relatively easy. Exciting!

Thank you. I'm very scared and nervous. The time is just flying by ill be done with the surgery before I know it

  3. You can totally ask for for cocktail I told them I was real nervous and they asked if I wanted something to help me relax and o said absolutely! Like I said I don't remember going back last I remember is waking up- I haven't had any gas pain any only theee incisions - I think that has helped me a lot only have three instead of five -

My doctor required three nights and four days in the hospital and I'm thankful for that you will need the break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life

I like the idea of staying in the hospital for at least three days, just to feel more comfortable in case anything. My Dr requires a night stay

  4. I walked almost 1/4 of a mile today starting about 6 hours after surgery. Every time I got up for any reason I walked the halls 1-3 times. 27 laps around was 1 mile. If my pain meds were given on time I feel well, if I was not on top of it that was when she I had pain. That would be my one piece of advice. Keep up with pain meds in a timely manor. Thanks for all the support

  5. I didn't have a lot of pain until a few days after surgery when my pain pump was empty, I felt real pain. The meds helped and in a day or so, I was ok. Tylenol alone kept in relatively comfortable.

Remember your fluids and protrin drink, you will feel much better better and be better able to do your walking. The longer you wait to get started th harder it is to get started. So start as soon as your doctor says so. My doc said the same day as surgery for a couple of minutes and 10 minutes 3x/day after that

I hope you recover quickly. Good luck

  6. I feel amazing!! The first couple of weeks before and after surgery were tough because we have to do everything we weren't doing before; like Portion Control, watching what we eat and exercising, but it's all worth it. My only regret is that I didn't do it 3 years ago when I first heard about it.

Right before surgery I was down to 322lbs from 352lbs. I had sleep apnea and high blood pressure. Now six months later, I'm down to 248lbs, no sleep apnea, no blood pressure meds, I can even run faster then my 10 year old son. I go to the gym a lot which helps tremendously but even if you just walk everyday you'll feel great! Some have more complications then others, so it takes more time to adjust to your new eating habits but I've never talked to anyone that says they wish they never got wls.

Not sure if you wanna travel all the way to Queens for the support group. Ask your surgeon about any support groups near you. We have one guy that works downtown but he lives in Long Island so when they have the meeting he stops in on his way home. Not sure if it'll be that easy for you

Queens is not that far depends what part.

That's awesome keep up the good work. My daughter is the main reason I'm doing this. I want to be as active as I can.
