2 hours ago, kejamess said:I am experiencing the same thing. My surgery was 5/24 as well. I went for my 10 day and had lost 18 pounds from my pre op visit on the 17th. I have been fluctuating between 232 and 230 all week....I don't understand it either, as I have followed the diet to a T...It's frustrating, as I am expecting not to gain every day like I am.
I have been the same weight for this entire week despite following the eating plan 100%. Has anyone experienced this? Reasons? Suggestions? Advice?

I am 4 days post op. Everything went smoothly. Since surgery morning, I have only lost 2 pounds. Is this normal? I have been on Clear Liquids and have followed all orders, walking etc. I feel fine...just a little achy. Anyone else have a slow start? Am I doing something wrong?

Good morning May sleevers! I had my surgery on Wednesday the 24th and now am home resting. It's a struggle to get in the 60 oz of Clear Liquids but I'm trying. I have had very little pain from the incisions. Have had a few doses of liquid loratab just to knock off the achiness. Doing lots of naps, walking and following Dr. orders. Can't wait to watch the weight start coming off.

I had a 40 as well...and mild sleep apnea when the insurance needed a "severe" case. They approved me....so hopefully they will do the same for you. Hopefully your Dr.'s staff can let you know what you can do to get approved...

Im thinking of it as a chance to start over and do it right. Kinda like getting a new stomach that isnt all old and stretched out...and making sure we do all the right things for that never to happen again...Good luck to you....We got this!

I took a lot of time researching before I began my journey. As long as you have either a BMI of over 40, sleep apnea, high blood pressure or diabetes you should be ok. It needs to prove to be medically necessary or everyone would be doing it. The staff at Sarasota Bariatrics was very helpful and kept me informed every step of the way. I live in Bradenton, but am having the surgery in Sarasota.

Wednesday is the day....everything is a go. I'm getting nervous...but I am so ready to make this life change. I love my Dr....and the staff that have helped bring me to now. I find it comforting to know they will be with me through the entire journey and beyond....and will follow me for years. Praying it all goes smoothly.
Thank you fellow May sleevers for the encouragement and sharing your issues and successes. It really helps.

Ok ya'll....my surgery is the 24th. I begin my liquid diet the 17th...I am having such a hard time getting off the coffee in the morning. The head aches are awful. Today I had fasting pre op bloodwork and thought ok...time to quit the coffee. Well...my head is pounding. I have limited myself to one cup a day in the morning...surely it shouldn't be this hard...or painful. Any suggestions?

Gotta get to work ya'll!!!! Wishing all my fellow May sleevers much success!!!! So excited for all of us!!!!

What a process huh? Glad you are almost there. I think I am too. All clearances are complete...just waiting on the insurance to give the go. It's funny how impatient I am...yet patient is all I can be at this point. Good Luck!

My surgery was May 24th and I went through the same thing for weeks. Trust me it will pass. I posted on here too...asking for help. Keep doing what you're doing and the scale will keep moving...maybe not as we expected, but it will keep going down and you will lose inches when it's not.
