malenac13 got a reaction from Honeybee17 in Tips to minimize saggy skin before/after WLS
I have never bn one for wearing any tummy control-like items like Spanx. But I do wear them now post op so that gravity doesn't pull all my excess skin down with the now loosened fat. I prefer the ones that go from just above my knees to below my chest.
Even before surgery I was taught to put my lotion and make up with up motions. I've Definitely increased the times I put lotion on in a day. I started using compression sleeves for my upper arms. And when I'm not using neoprene waist trimmer I'll wear The abdominal binder they put on me after surgery if I'm not wearing spanx.

My mother says taking Vitamin E orally and using vitamin E oil helps.
My health food guru at work says to include collagen. Which supposedly helps with elasticity. So I'm hoping to purchase some soon!!
And I'm eager to get into a workout regiment to build muscle for toning and for skin firming.
Oh and my nutritionist says using a body scrub helps remove old skin so new one can generate.
Hope this is helpful. And Good Luck everyone!

Roll ups with ham or turkey and cheese are a good option. Hummus and veggies to round it out. If you have a thermos, hot Soup or chili is good. Egg salad, good. Chunks of chicken, that too ...

I'm not offended nor am I a food addict, but some people are. Thats just the way it is. For some it isn't an excuse. It's a struggle for everyone it's not the same. I ate like I was supposed to. Straws on the other hand I used one by accident and panicked because surgeon said don't do it but didn't say why. Called my dr but until they called back I asked others. Only to be told by the dr office, oh some people have issues with straws but if you don't it's ok. Not everyone has a "jerk" to keep them in line either. Just a thought if your tired of seeing the same post over and over why bother to waste time reading them or precious time venting a post.

I add collagen peptides powder to my coffee, tea, or shake. Tasteless, dissolves totally, and helps joints, skin, hair, nails and more. Collagen can't be absorbed so it must be ingested. I'm 8 weeks out so I don't know how it works for me, but I researched it before my RNY so I could do all I could to prevent loose skin from the start. I buy mine off Amazon. In my opinion it's worth looking into and helps a lot of stuff.
