  1. So, I've been away from this site for a long time. I have being struggling with depression and anxiety. I'm on meds now but I'm also struggling with the fact that I gain weight. I have tried to follow the previous diet my surgeon's office gave me but is no longer working. Their diet consists in yogurt, cheese, cottage cheese, eggs and meat. I have seen other people eating nuts and berries and they have been more successful in their journey.

I have talked with my PCM about it (because I'm in the process of switching surgeons to continue my follow-ups with another person) and it suggested vegan style for me. Does anyone in here is vegan or have had done vegan life style before? Is anyone following another type of diet that has been successful? If anyone can help me with some suggestions, I will appreciate it.

  2. I have the same problem. I spend 2-3 hrs in the gym 3-5 days a week or if I can't go to the gym I workout at the house pretty much the same amount of time. I've being in a stall for almost two months now and they sent me to eat every two hrs and I simply can't put all that food in my stomach. They told me I've being burning the double of calories I'm consuming. And is so frustrating bc I don't want any batwings or anything hanging in my body.

I will take your advice and do less days and try to eat more. Let's see if I brake this stall.

  3. Hey there!! I was sleeved on december 2016 and I lost 70lbs so far. I've being walking 3-4 miles or spending 2-3 hrs at the gym but I've being stock in 195 for the past month and a half. Has anyone had the same situation?? They sent me to eat every two hrs but I can barely eat my Snacks. Is hard. Any suggestions??

  4. I am 6 months out, 199 (finally onederland), still have 50lbs more to go and I've been cheating the last month or two. When I said cheating I meant I can't fit no Snacks during the day and when I have my cycle, I eat chocolate. I had a lot of stress, I was sexual frustrated bc my husband and I barely have sex (once every 2-3 months), other situations that I had..... And the last thing now is I'm probably pregnant [emoji20] don't get me wrong I want more kids but we were gonna do it in two years. So now I'm worried about what can happen if in fact I'm pregnant and the surgery. I just got back in track trying to fit snacks in between like they told me to but is sooooo hard!!!

  6. Think about it like this. This type of surgery will change his life. It will help him get healthier and he will live longer if he stick with it. I understand your point cause you might be scared. In my case, my husband ask me for it (he wants me to live longer than him and be healthy.) He is in a better shape than me but he have high blood pressure. I thought about it for months and I still did it even when I wasn't completely sure about it. I did for him (I'm not saying is the way to do it.)

I will ask you something. Do you like big guys?? I think you are scare of changes and this is a big change. Ask yourself: do I want my fiancee to have diabetes, high blood pressure, erectile disfunction, heart attacks, or worst?? Or do I want him to marry me and live a long life raising our children in the future?? Do I want him to struggle with clothes, walking, get togethers or do I want him to get in the stores and buy the clothes he likes??

Is hard to be supportive when it becomes to surgeries but sometimes we have to make sacrifices even when we don't want to. At the end of the day whatever happens to him it will affect you positively or negatively.

  7. So I'm exactly 4 months post-op and I dropped 50 lbs. I went from 265 to 215. I've being going up and down (2-3 up, 2-3 down). It's frustrating!! So I finally decided to start Insanity (after 5 years of tried twice, never made it after the second week) and I am feeling better but...... I'm now on my third week of Insanity and I haven't drop any pound. Is there anyone having similar issues??

  8. I was sleeved on 12/6 and I lost 50lbs. I've been the last month 2-3lbs up, 2-3lbs down. I usually eat eggs, cheese and ham or turkey ham for Breakfast, tuna fish for lunch, chicken or beef for dinner (mostly chicken, I do beef once a week) and for Snacks two whey Protein  shakes and one yogurt. Sometimes I can fit veggies and sometimes I can't. That depends on my baby stomach everyday Lol Yes I do three Snacks per day. I've being having trouble the last month. I haven't been away from the 215 and is driving me nuts. Im doing insanity now for exercise

  10. Carbonation will expand your stomach. They made an experiment with a balloon (represent the stomach pouch) and a soda to show us how the bubbles from the carbonation made the balloon to expand every time you drink it. It was scary. I'm good without soda

  11. What if you change fruits for vegetables?? I'm not allowed to eat fruits and it worked for me. I'm 3 months out and I lost 45lbs. 65lbs more to go. Ask your surgeon about cutting fruits (they have sugar) and replace them for non-starchy vegetables.

Also remember, everybody is different and some people have what is called "week stall" where you don't lose anything for a week or two bc the body needs to adjust. Good lick

  12. Congrats!! Being able to go to the gym does not mean kill yourself exercising. You need to take it slowly. I went to the gym the third week post op. I started two days with cardio 2 hrs and the third day I started with weights. My routine is 3 hrs 5-6 days per week with 30 mins cardio and the rest weights. The Vitamins I like are Bariatric Choice . They are cheap and they are awesome.
