  1. TracyAnderson I often find myself feeling the same way. My surgery date was 10/24. I was able to consume more liquids than most RIGHT out the gate. I progressed to food sooner than my doctors allowed because at times I was that hungry. I have learned that if you get your fluids in then you are not as hungry. I have been overweight most of my life and I look at all of these pics and testimonies and I have doubt that it will be me one day. My SW was 305. My CW is 285 and tomorrow is my one month surgiversary. I haven't started excercise yet. So maybe that will help. I have to change my thinking and stick to the plan. Hang in there. Thanks for sharing

  2. Lol! I understand! Just be careful not to cause any leakage in those staples. I'm excited that you can graduate to soft foods soon. That was a game changer for me. Trust me .....even now I don't want to see ANYTHING on that approved liquid list! Lol. I'm at my 4 week well beginning of 4 weeks and I didn't lose since last week. But I can't get caught up in numbers. I just have to keep moving forward.

  3. I had the same experience as far as feeling hungry and being done with shakes. I also dabbled in eggs and mashed potatoes. There are really no answers here. You have to weather the storm. Try to sip on broth to give you variety or maybe tea but you don't want to progress too much too fast. Be honest with your dr and nut so they can help you and give some suggestions if there are any. I'm 4 weeks out and I promise it gets better with time. Make sure you are taking your Pepcid and other meds because they help. Hang in there and don't forget to call your dr.

Thank you! I go for 3 week follow up on monday where they will graduate me to soft foods. I hope they won't be mad at me that I started a little early. I have been very careful not to over-do it. I just thought the hunger was supposed to stay away for a while. Maybe I will ask on Monday. I will admit I do not get in enough food during the day. I get plenty of fluids but just the sight of food, Protein shakes, Soups, even SF popsicles just the thought makes me sick. aside from the eggs and mashed potatoes i have not been satisfied for close to 5 weeks. and I can tell my tastes have changed already. I am doing well on liquid though. I am often too thirsty.

  5. Omg!! I thought I was just FAT! Here it is I have had surgery and am still hungry. Who does that. I feel so much better knowing I wasn't the only one. I had surgery on 10/24 and the biggest part is having a hungry teenager, an 11 year old and a three year old. I have nibbled on some of their food but decided to stop because it defeats the purpose of making this decision.

  6. Well I'm definitely guilty of sneaking a cracker here or a bite of something because after the pre-op diet, surgery and post op diet I missed certain foods that I hadn't had in it seems like months. I have 3 kids and a wonderful husband and it's true we have to DECIDE to change. I found myself tasting meals that I prepared for my family and I didn't prepare properly. Like having my food prepared to snack on to fight those urges. We mess up at times but I appreciate a swift kick in the but! Get it together or you will waste this amazing opportunity. It's so easy to get caught into bad habits especially around the Holidays and getting busy, but you can't justify bad habits because they won't go anywhere. Thanks for all who shares. It helps me either way
