A lot of it comes from food and drink choices. Got to stay away from acidic items (tomatoes, citrus fruits), high fats, and spicy for sure.
But apple cider vinegar is supposed to help. And maybe some peppermint essential oil too. Some others out there too...can't remember them.
Hope you find relief too.
Im still on liquid diet -
I used to take pepcide and it worked for the acid reflux feeling but not the vomiting.

Hello, im about 6 weeks post op from vsg and having really bad acid reflux. Last night it was bad and i had to drink ginger tea to soothe the burning sensation. I am taking nexium 40 mg whicj helps, but when it wears off, its hell. There is not a day where i dont vomit, which i believe is due to the acid & Constipation. I have to get myfluids in between my nausea which is causing me not get enough fluids in. Im miserable. Im not even eating because i dont want to get really constipated. Please help. Its a marry go roung.

Believe it or not, I bought a laxative tea and it worked like a charm. I didn't think it would, but I was in so much pain, I would have taken anything. My husband made me a huge mug of it and I sipped it before going to bed. By 6am, it took full effect.
I didn't think about a laxative tea. Im a try this -
Are you still taking pain medicine?
Yes -

Ive been worried because im supposed to start puree on monday. Yesterday i had nothing but Protein drink and Water. I was good all day then i voimitted. I think i drank too much tho. All in all since i found the Isopure drinks life has been a easier. Im getting my energy back. I was looking forward to eating food but now im scaredI had my sleeve on 1/23 as well, i can tell you i wouldn't even dream of trying a grape or even strained grape juice yet. I'm allowed on pureed food as of yesterday. I tried a pureed hard boiled egg with some mayo the night before that...i don't care if i never see one again...UGH However, looking back after trying chili last night, i know my mistake was trying too much of the egg. I pulled out the scale and weighed out 1 oz of chili, and slowly ate it with a spoon. BEST THING EVER! Then i tried another ounce, again slowly. I was able to eat 3 ozs in about an hour.
I would bet that you are trying too much too quickly. Slow and steady is the key from what i'm learning because if i drink too quickly, i feel horrible like the Fluid is coming back up my throat. Get your fluids in an ounce at a time every 10 mins or so. The same with the pureed food, measure and take your time, don't push yourself. Your stomach is like a closed fist with the swelling and maybe the size of a straw going through it. it needs to heal. (I watched a video on you tube, made so much sense after seeing that)
Good Luck!

Yo isopure drinks changed the game for me. I was at the point where i couldnt stomach another Protein Shake. I had lost so much of my energy and was slipping into depression. I came across this, went to Vitamin Shoppe. I bout black tea and green melon. The very next day my energy was 2x better. Go to GNC or Vitamin shoppe

I had my sleeve done on the 23rd. Since then, my energy is completely drained, right ear is muffled, and i voimitted for the 3rd time today. I had my 1st post op appointment yesterday and dr said everything is fine. But the couldn't even get a blood pressure reading cause the machine kept saying cos. Last night i had 1 grape and 1/4 cup of strained grape juice around 9 pm. Just now i voimitted that and its noon. Also i have this funny gas feeling by my stomach all the time and it only seems to be affected if i eat something. On top of not having the energy to walk, take a showe, going downstairs. Im completely miserable. Im stuck in bed while my city (houston) and friends are enjoying the beautiful weather and festivities. Im drinking alot. I even bought expensive Protein Jello. I should be starting puree foods on Monday but how can i when food refuses to make it past my stomach into my intestines

I had mines on the 23rd and im also struggling to get liquids in. Im currently on crystal light peach tea. I find sometimes if i drink there will be a knott in chest and have to burp myself. I still have gas but the pain is not as bad as the 1st day. I just want to know when will be able to laugh, sneeze, clear my throat, ect. I never thought little things like that would be effective

Hello, im currently in the insurance acceptance phase but my dr office is procrastinating in submitting my info. My package was supposed to be submitted to my insurance last Tuesday. I called yesterday and my patient advisor gold me shes working on it & hopefully it will be submitted yesterday. That really pissed me off because she had a week to submit it & im trying to have my surgery done at a strategic time. I try to call her several times, always get vm. Im getting really frustrated. Am i tripping or should i leave it alone

Yes ma'am. They are asking for medical recorded history for 2014 & 2015I didn't need any history of weight problems for Aetna. All I need was the NUT visits, doctor letter, psych eval, and no net weight gain in the 3 months. Are you sure you need the weight history?
