Surgery yesterday woke up to find out they couldn't do it[emoji25]
kell911 replied to shropee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The bypass is recommended due to the diabetes and other issues. The sleeve can not do what the bypass will do for some issues. I had started the journey wanting the sleeve, i am 196 lbs now, diabetes on insulin and other meds for over 2 years and the best choice to help rid this is bypass. It isn't about the size in these cases for the most part. Although every case is different. -
I am sure this has been talked about at one time or another but, here goes.... Does anyone know if FEPBCBS covers the removal of skin after surgery? If so talk to me about the process and what is needed.

Great info! Thank you.. I will start the documentation process for that as well.

Trying to decide VSG vs RNY
kell911 replied to janieG's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My Dr. recommended the RNY over the Sleeve, because of the Diabetes and being on insulin for over 2 years. I have occasional reflux and high cholesterol. I have been planning the sleeve for over a year but the surgeon says I would do better with RNY. I am more nervous, still very excited. -

Could I be denied if my BMI goes down?
kell911 replied to KaiserKid's topic in Insurance & Financing
@@patricka76 so how long did it take for them to get your approval? Do you have a surgery date? -
I went and saw my surgeon for the first visit yesterday. He was amazing. I have been looking at the sleeve. I am a type II diabetic and high cholesterol. I started at 202 and bmi 37 with 2 comorbidities. I have been an insulin for more than 3 years and struggle to lose a pound. My Dr. recommended the I do the Bypass not the sleeve because of my diabetes and how it would more likely reverse it compared to the sleeve, I am nervous about this. I am researching it now. I will have all my check off complete for the Dr and insurance on 2/2. He will be requesting approval for both then I will just need to tell him which one I want to do. Do any of you have input on this? Thank you ALL!

Could I be denied if my BMI goes down?
kell911 replied to KaiserKid's topic in Insurance & Financing
I started with 36.9 bmi, i am now at 35.89 as of yesterday. I have my last weigh in 2/2. My goal is to maintain this because I don't want to even let them try to deny me. -
I will have a 3 hour nutrition and my psych eval was 45min.

I think you will look FABULOUS as one would coming out of surgery in that moment. Then the question is how do you imagine yourself 3, 6, 12 months down the road? MOST likely more FABULOUS!!!

What is wrong with literal overly sensitive assholes?
kell911 replied to xoxococojay's topic in Rants & Raves
WELL! Those individuals obviously don't want true encouragement or help. Keep it on going. Don't let those individuals with the negativity discourage you from helping and encouraging others. Good luck ! -
3 weeks out and hungry !
kell911 replied to shelby18's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Re-Training the BRAIN is key to all of our success. What else satisfies you in your life? Try to find one or two things that satisfies you, for example art, exercise, family, music. Become hungry for life. -

@@T_Hay81 Good luck to you as well. My first insurance was BCBS texas and they required the 6 months but then my insurance changed to FED and it went to 3 months diet. I have been blessed with that for sure. I really hope the best for you...
