  16. Hi everyone! Couldn't find a straight answer in the search bar to this question. Is there an app or an awesome Water bottle that you love that helps you get your water in? Upcoming surgery and contemplating how we can succeed on every level. Wondering if I shouldn't set a timer on my phone every 15 minutes? Is there an easier way maybe one of you guys now? 17. Hi there, great question is I cannot find any information about this on the internet. My son is currently three and a half months old I have my surgery date for December 27th of this year! I needed to get my surgery in before the end of the year for insurance reasons comma and my surgeon was awesome that he kind of rushed me through. It does all depend on your insurance though. I did not need to do the three month medically supervised diet before surgery. I will have to stop breastfeeding my son on the first day of my 2-week liquid diet comma that is a diet before your surgery to shrink your liver. There's definitely some sadness around the fact that I won't be nursing him as long as I nurse my daughter comma but I had to weigh the risk and benefits for me. And this is it opportune time for me to have surgery because my husband will be off work to help with the kids. So do what's best for you if you know you want to have surgery soon I would start the process ASAP as it could take 7 to 8 months mine only took two, I am truly blessed period hope that helps I dictate my text please excuse any typos. 18. Any eating disorder therapist/counselor. Are you familiar with Geneene Roth? If not Google her and find her website. She speaks about emotional eating, sounds like you are doing this at night. Behavior modification might work for some, someone without emotional ties to food..but personally I don't know who that person is. Maybe someone with really bad habits. I am a food addict. I've been in therapy for years. I don't want to discourage you from traditional therapy, it can definitely help. Food is not the issue, it's a symptom of the underlying feelings that we are afraid of/avoid. This work is deep and can be done. To overcome emotional eating we must meet our feelings. Also Google growing human kindness ..Karly, she has a great blog too that gets at the heart of our food issues. The best thing is you are Aware of your behavior, that is awesome!! Healing does not happen intellectually. It's a heart based healing that will break the addiction cycle. Hope this helps. Okama and this approach isn't for everyone you really have to have an open heart to understand it. I can tell you I'm 40 I've been in therapy since my twenties and have tried anything and this heart based compassion approach where we truly dive into our feelings is the only only thing that feels true and right. I dictate my text please excuse any typos. Good luck to you Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App
  19. Hi guys/gals! Just had my nutrition class with dietician. Wow. Feeling very overwhelmed with planning food. My surgery is Dec 27. Thinking of trying some recipes out now. I guess I am concerned about getting all my Protein in, specifically when we start blended food which is wee 2&3 for me. I know it's going to be trial and error. Since our stomach is going to be so much smaller I'm concerned about a meal not being able to finish it and then I wouldn't have satisfied my protein level for that meal , I guess if that happens I'll just have to add some protein to a drink then. And then step on that throughout the day. On another note just curious are any of you linked to any Facebook support pages maybe we could start a Facebook page? 22. Amazing. Congratulations to you. This is hard work really hard work. I have my surgery in December. I've been battling an eating disorder my whole life. This surgery is just a tool to help, that I know. However, I can't seem to find information on those with eating disorders and weight loss surgery...very interesting if you ask me. Thank you for your honesty here. Do you mind sharing a little bit about what it's like having the surgery and battling the disorder? Does surgery help at all? Does it have force you to face all the emotions that lead us to use food? Very curious how this plays out. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
