  1. Lisa.. can you recommend a brand of powder you like?do you ever do shakes? Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App If I'm doing a shake powder, it is usually the Syntrax Nectars. I've come to like Caribbean Cooler as its flavor is very mellow- just above neutral. I always add a half scoop of an unflavored powder to it, as well. Brings those 8 oz up to around 35g of whey isolate. There is a RTD product called Protein2O that I love as well. Over 20g whey isolate in it as well. Flavors are EXCELLENT!!! And no whey -forward taste at all. Pretty clean flavors. Again, no milk to it which I prefer. As for the unflavored...I really like Unjury, but it needs to be ordered, so I keep a stash of other brands at home to use if I run out. I add it to anything I can- usually by the half- scoop. Works well in my Oikos Triple Zero yogurt!!! I'll add it to coffee, tea, you name it. Hope that helps!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App It does! Thank you. One more question...is there one site where I can purchase samples first instead of buying in bulk? I would hate to be stuck with it if the taste wasn't for me. 7. Dave, Thanks for your input! To be clear, I am Not trying to figure out how to eat cookies. My apologies if my question came off like that. Actually the exact opposite :-) I am trying to be honest with myself. If I have the gastric bypass and eat a cookie( several months out) and get sick that might be the best thing for someone LIKE me. Many people are having surgery because of poor eating and emotional eating. Actually I'm not sure why/ if anyone would need surgery if they didn't struggle with those issues. I'm coming in well-informed... there's a honeymoon phase and then it's maintenance and the excitement of losing a large amount of weight is no longer. This is a real question.. this is about life after the weight loss. For me, I know how to lose weight. Lots of it! The problem is maintaining the loss. I'm guessing most people that turn to surgery struggle with maintenance. Regards, L Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App

  9. Hi all! Please share some things that helped you in the hospital and that dreaded first week home. Now that you can look back, was there anything that you wish you would have had or done differently? Thank you so much in advance for your time. Loving the support and encouragement here Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App

  11. Hi all! My surgery is planned for the 27th, yea! The problem is I keep going back and forth between bypass and sleeve. I am a sweet eater and my surgeon told me that Cookies and cakes could go right through. So bypass might be a better option but I would prefer the sleeve. So my question to all of you ...are you able to eat large amounts of sweets or do you get sick? Thank you so much. Are any of you emotional eaters or binge eaters? has the sleeve helped with volume too? Thanks in advance and appreciate your time. L Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App
  12. I can't decide between sleeve or bypass. Would love to hear your reasons behind your choice. I know everyone's different. Just curious... I think I passed would be better for me because I am a big time sweet eater unfortunately. But I'm terrified about the malabsorption and some other stuff associated with that period at the same time this looks appealing but if Cookies are going to go right down and might not set me up for success. Thank you for posting your before and after pics definitely helps us to see what can be done. Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App

  15. I think any therapist that works with eating disorders would help. Unless of course you do not have an unhealthy relationship with food. Good luck. I have been in therapy for years and my surgery is next month. Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App
  16. Newbie here and super sad to see this thread. I hope this is Not the norm. Name calling has no place on a forum like this. I believe, if you are going to respond to someone's post take a minute to really read your post before sending. Some things get lost in translation and definitely via social media. Please, there is never a time for using words like idiot, idiotic, dumb...etc. let's be better. Steps off podium... Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App
