I am 2 years out from surgery but remember where you stand all too well... The thought of what the hell did I do to myself, once you are allowed other foods and they make you sick. My first meal was a scrambled egg white, could barely keep it down, and then I tried yogurt, no good either and all the while my mind was messing with me. Take a breath sip on some warm tea, or really cold tea, my sleeve loved very cold things and not warm things. Even today I can eat my food cold as if its too hot I only can heat a bite or two and I am over full! But go slow, I know this is not the magical answer you may crave but its all a mind game honestly. I stand 2 years out and still play with that devil of witch in my head called *head hunger*. It will pass and come again, its totally a mental game, right now your just learning how to cope, and work with your tool!

    TAKE YOUR TIME!

YOU GOT THIS, ONE MINUTE AT A TIME IF NEED BE!

Yes, you do get semi back to normal then you worry your eating too much or grazing which is worse! This is a journey of CONSTANT LEARNING, I myself 2 years out still must relearn and reassure myself EVERYDAY!

Thanks so much for your feedback I appreciate it a lot

I am 1 month post op and stopped feeling desperate for food the day I got transitioned from liquids. Now I feel so full on my first couple ounces of Protein I have no craving that is stronger than my feeling stuffed. Make sure you're getting your antacid or it messes with hunger.

  5. My dietician recommended Cyborg Ultra Leaan Protein powder to add to Water to help with your Protein intake. It's an easier way to get it all in through the day. Just make sure you take a tablespoon of olive oil and one of lemon juice mixed together once a day to help your body process all of the protein. It can cause gallstones which hurt as much as labour pains but in the top of your belly. Hoping you find a happy medium chiquiroxy.

  6. Hi Roxy, I too had my surgery on Nov. 7th. I am happy to say I feel better everyday. I ate nothing for the first 3 days because anything I even thought about ingesting made me very nauseous. On day 4 I finally started with a Protein shake. My problem is, when I "eat" my stomach feels as though it's "grinding" for lack of a better word. Does anyone have any words of wisdom?? I am so excited about this journey and want to be as successful as possible.

Good morning I think sipping on warm Water or even tea will help you a little bit as far as me at the beginning my esophagus felt like a chain of spikes and I felt every movement going down and with the gas it was not helping at all...but just sip sip sip and if a certain liquid doesn't help try something else but drink slowly

  8. I too have learned my lesson on pushing it. I'm a about 10 days post op. I was so excited that I could have cottage cheese. It tasted so good. I went a bit overboard and was miserable for a few hours. That mistake won't happen again. I absolutely hear you Anthony74!! We will make mistakes, learn, and move on. I guess that's just how it works.

Thank you for sharing that my mind was killing me last night about having two tablespoons of cottage cheese but now I won't...this is why everyone's opinion is worth to read so we all can learn from everyone

  9. It's all good! I made a mistake but apparently I'm not allowed to do that. I'm down 53 pounds from October 23rd to now. I tried my body and lost.I posted it thinking that someone would say that they've been there and overcame. Instead, I'm met with angry, non rational comments from people that supposedly is going through the same thing. At the end of the day, we are all human and we are gonna make mistakes. I didn't eat the sandwich because I needed to, I ate it because I've been taking liquids in so well that I was starting to doubt if the surgeon (Mexico) did actually sleeve me. No more no less. I found out that they did do a wonderful job. But if jumping on this post makes you feel good about yourself, feel free to do so. I'm built for it!

Thanks for sharing your mistake because at the end it help other understand why the phase of liquid diet is important and I understand the temptations cause we all have them...hope you feel better and yes I can't wait to move to the next phase myself...

  10. Side note! If you guys haven't downloaded the app "Baritastic" to your phone. I a thousand times recommend it. It makes keeping track of your entire day incredibly easy also has an option to scan the barcode on the food your eating and automatically input it which is amazing for the Protein shakes. Also tracks your Water, calories, carbs, calories burned and has some recipes I wouldn't have found on my own! It made my journey home way easier.
