  1. Jacole,

I am very pleased with Dr Blackstone and her office staff. She is the best, as well as is her staff. They are always there to spend the extra time with you if necessary. I would highly recommend her to anyone here. Im sure you will be pleased.

  2. i am waiting to have my band replaced. mine was originally done in 4/06 and slipped around january-march 07. my doctor too said it wasnt my band because of the way it was stitched in. but i ended up having to have it taken out in april, my stomach was almost completely above my band. mine was due too from having bronchitis really bad and it never went away. noone knew how to treat me and my band doc kept telling me my band was ok. so now, i had to wait six months to be sure i was completely healed and i am going back in october 4 to have a new one. i slept in a lazyboy for about 1-2 months and was continuously vomiting blood and tissue. i had gone down to 120 because of getting sick, when i had my band removed i was 137 (because of all the iv liquids i guess) and now i have gained about 60 lbs. i was down about 105lbs before i lost it. so i am just a little disgruntled right now. i know that when i have the band put back in i will start to lose again, but im just so angry, both at the doctors and at myself because of all the weight i gained back.

  3. so, i had my pre-op appt yesterday. im good to go. i cant believe how much weight i have gained tho. my doc is putting in a new type of band, this one has like a plastic clip type thing so that if it slips, all they do is go in and readjust the band. i wish they would have had that to begin with. so i have 3 weeks to go. im counting down.

  4. yes, the cough never really went away, and after having it for about 6 months, my stomach couldnt take anymore. what kinda made me mad was that i had checked with my band doc around january and told them what was going on and they assured me it couldnt be a slip because it was sewn in so tight. it just got really out of control, to the point that i was vomiting up "coffee grounds" (tissue and blood), and the weight was just dropping off. (that was kinda good). so they took it out in april, and i cant have it put back in until october.

  5. I am going thru the same thing. I tend to do really well during the day, but at night, (which is my time) I tend to just eat and eat, knowing darn good and well what is going to happen. Brushing my teeth wont work, cuz i dont care if my teeth are clean or about the taste, i will still eat. what happens is that is sit there and start thinking about something that would be good to eat. its like it just overtakes my mind and i cant think of anything else until i get up and get it. ive tried drinking Water, trying to occupy myself with something else, ignoring it, nothing seems to work. my mind gets the best of me usually every time and i give in and eat. i didnt do this when i had my band, but now without it its terrible, and i wont get it back for another 2 months. i too would appreciate all the help and suggestions i can get.

    thanks

  6. sometimes it takes a few weeks for a fill to adjust. if you are getting blocked up, i dont think i would get another fill right now, or you may start throwing everything up. everyone fills differently, even in a 10 band, you may only need 2-3 cc's. when you go for your next fill appt have a good conversation with the doc, let them assess the situation, you may not need another fill for awhile. hope this helps.

  7. I feel your pain. I had mine out because of a bout with bronchitis 5 months before. You just dont realize how much your really depend on your band until you dont have it. I hope you can get it put back in. I know its easy to think that you will eat the same way without the band as with it, but that just hasnt worked for me. I think i need someone to kick me in the patooty to get me back on track. Still have 2 months to wait until I get it back in. I will be there for you, just keep me posted. Maybe we can do this together.

  8. well, it looks like i have to wait til october. october 4th to be exact. my doc wont do surgery before then, she says my stomach needs to heal completely before the next surgery. so, i have 3 months to wait. i guess at least there is a pot at the end of my rainbow, its just the weight gain in between that im afraid of.

  9. so i heard from my doctors office yesterday. I am reapproved to have my band put back in.(What a relief)!!!! Now i am just going to see if there is any way they can do it sooner than october. I dont want to have to get reapproved again. Im hoping to have it done in august. well see!!!!

  10. Indeed, my appetite has returned. Im back to dieting again. I've gained about 20lbs since I lost my band. This really bites. Im trying and I think the only thing that is saving me from total explosion is that I am still going to the gym. It seems like every monday rolls around and I say, ok, this week is going to be different. Im really getting discouraged. But, I keep plugging on. I think I will try talking to my doc to see if there is any way to do this again before October. My life before losing the band was ideal. My restriction was perfect, I was losing, and totally happy. If it hadnt been for getting a horrible case of bronchitis, I would still have my band. Anyway, here goes, another day.

  11. so, i heard from my doctors office yesterday. I need to wait til october to get my band replaced. she wants to wait 6 months before putting it back in. they are going to get the ball rolling now with my insurance so that when october comes, i dont have to wait to get through that. i was so hoping to get it done in august, i just want it back!!!!

  12. you sound just like i did before i ended up in the hospital. I had to sleep in the recliner at night to get any rest, which wasnt much. are you throwing up what looks like coffee grounds? you really need to find someone now and get this taken care of. believe me, if you do lose your band, overall you will feel better physically, and if needed you can get it put back in if you want to do that. but, please, get some help!!!

  13. absolutely!!! I definitely want my band back in. I've gained enough back and can't wait to get it back. I think that after having it put back, both me and the doc will be watching pretty closely to avoid having this happen again. But, i dont have any question in my mind that i want it back.
