    Bye-Bye Band

absolutely!!! I definitely want my band back in. I've gained enough back and can't wait to get it back. I think that after having it put back, both me and the doc will be watching pretty closely to avoid having this happen again. But, i dont have any question in my mind that i want it back.

    Bye-Bye Band

when I had my band removed, my doc didnt even try to make it work. At that point, it had gone too far so she had to just take it out. she said that i could probably have it put back in in 4-6 months. im waiting to hear from her now to see about that. my band was stitched in, but with all of the coughing and throwing up, it managed to move.

    Missing my band

i also lost my band in april 2007. i had been banded for a year and lost over 100 lbs. now, like some of you, i eat everything i see. its just horrible. im waiting to see if i will be reapproved to get it put back in. so far since my band removal i have gained 24lbs. i just cant seem to get a handle on this thing. i can definitely notice changes taking place, ones that i dont like, which you would think would be enough to make me get it in gear, but my willpower level is at about a zero right now. i havent even looked on this board for awhile because i dont know, maybe im in denial. i need help!!!

    Bye-Bye Band

alexandra, I agree with you. I realize i am still a little swollen but after getting on the scale today, i just wanted to cry. i have definitely noticed a difference in my appetite and have gained. but again, some of that is because of not having for so long, i thought, well, im gonna try this. wrong thing to do. we do need to get our minds back on track and not let this get the best of us.

    Bye-Bye Band

Jules, I too have had my band removed. One week ago today as a matter of fact. It was an emergency surgery in which I ended up on life support and a medically induced coma. Its a miracle to me that I am home now and actually typing on this board. Have you noticed big change in your appetite? Thats what is freaking me out the most. I can tell I am eating more than I was, but then again over the last month, I was eating almost nothing because of my slippage and when I did eat, bringing it right back up again. I really would like to keep tabs with you and maybe we could just kinda keep track of one another. I was able to get past my goal weight before I had it removed, but now I fear putting my weight back on. your stomach kinda sounds like mine was. 3/4 of my stomach was up above my band and nothing was getting thru.i havent been able to get back to the gym yet, imstill pretty swollen, especially my feet and my mid section. Anyway, Im really glad you are doing ok and that there are others going thru what we have to keep us going.
  7. Hi guys, I posted somewhat about this a while back, but i really need your help, feedback and prayers. i was diagnosed with what they thought was bronchitis back in nobember. well, i still have it only now i know its not bronchitis. i go through many many coughing attacks a day lasting sometimes 30 minutes. while coughing, bringing up mucas, brown crud, and alot of times whatever i've eaten. its usually the worst in the mornings and at night. still sleeping in the recliner, cant sleep in bed. i am on my second pulmonologist, the first one did nothing. they thought it was maybe valley fever but everything they have tested comes back normal. i had a cat scan last week and the only thing they found was a subtle haziness in my right lung. he thought that may be an infection of some kind, so now i am scheduled for friday to have a bronchialoscopy to biopsy. i now in the meantime think ive developed yet another problem. there is some type of acid thing going on either in my stomach or pouch. whenever i eat anything, spicy or not, it triggers and i end up having to go and get rid of whatever is in my stomach to make it feel better. now i have hit my lapband goal and gone 15lbs past that, im now this morning 125, but that is concerning me also. so far just this week ive lost about 6lbs. my lapband appt is not until next friday the 20th and after calling, there is no way to get me in any earlier. my family is freaking out because im sick, they dont know how to treat me, and im losing too much weight. i have absolutely no energy, havent been able to eat anything really except mashed potatoes and maybe cream Soups and then just a little. i am also afraid that with all the coughing and yacking up, my band is going to slip. if anyone has any feedback, please let me know. thanks guys.

Need Help & Feedback im sick

ok guys, i havent replied to your posts because i've been really sick and in the hospital. i just got home yesterday. here's what happened: went in last friday for outpatient procedure, i was having a bronchialoscopy. well. while he was doing this, and i was out, i got sick and started throwing up "coffee grinds" as they call it, which is blood. he stopped, called in another specialist who then did an endoscopy on me. after he was done, he said that my esophogus was looked like hamburger. i was then scheduled for an upper gi the next day, which was sunday. let me tell you, that was disgusting. it was like drinking a large glass of elmers glue. wrong thing to do. during all of this, my hubby and i had been telling them i had a lapband and showing them the picture of it and our doctor who did it. every one of them looked at us like we were aliens. they knew absolutely nothing about lapbands. after having the upper gi, the cigna doctor came in and decided to give me a hospital pass to go see my lapband doctor to get my fill taken out. he had talked to her just before that and she told him she wanted to do an unfill and take an exray. so i went there and they were only able to draw out 1 cc because i was so swollen. i went to get an exray and afterwards she came out to talk to me and told me she needed to remove my band. apparantly about 3/4 of my stomach was now above my band instead of below it. she was afraid at this point if she tried to just fix it that they might put a hole in my stomach. so, i am now officially unbanded. there were complications after my surgery and i ended up on life support and in a medical induced coma. let me tell you, i never saw this coming. she said that she couldnt say whether my band had slipped because of my caugh completely, but she thought that the scoping had something to do with it and if they would have just called her we may not have ended up this way. i will never go back to the first hospital and am just thankful i was able to get to the second one in time. she did say that in four months, we could look at possibly putting it back in. i just hope and pray that i can do this without the band now. my hubby still has his and is doing great. he has lost 190 lbs so far and has gone from a 52% body fat to a 27%. i still have gunk that need to get rid of in my lungs and im pretty depressed right now about waiting so long to get the band and now its just gone. i would love to talk to others who may have lost theirs to see how they are doing. thanks for letting me post. peggy

    pb and vomiting

i have a question for you all. i have been banded now for 1 year. i do pb sometimes and once in a while i will vomit. however last night i vomitted and when it came up it looked like i was throwing up poop. it didnt smell too good either. i hadnt eaten hardly anything yesterday, cuz ive been sick with what they think is valley fever. but i just thought it strange that it would come up that way when all i had eaten was a couple crackers and a few bites of mashed potatoes. does anyone have any insight they could give me? thanks peggy

    pb and vomiting

susan, it looks like diareaha and smells pretty bad. i have vomitted up some brown fibery stuff that my physician says is probably tissue from all the coughing ive been doing. i havent had a skin test for valley fever, they have done two blood tests and both came back negative, but my pulmonary doctor said thats very common to come back negative and still have valley fever.
