  1. Surgery was on Tuesday for me and I won't lie, first two days were incredibly uncomfortable for me as I was repeatedly sick due to anaesthesia and haemostatis. Once i got up, drain was removed and catheter too I started feeling better on an hourly basis. I got out on Thursday and have had NO painkillers at home at all, I'm not being brave I just don't feel any pain. Burps are needed but a trick you can use is baby colic drops such as Infacol etc. Been to shops twice in two days with my toddler and hubby, lifting is a no-no and I'm missing my hugs with my daughter but you really don't want a kid jumping on the wounds. I'm now allowed milk, thinned soups, yoghurts and drinking Lucozade sport to help stabilize my own fluids which has really helped as I'm probably under water required but again that's improved daily. The fear I totally get, it's the whole WTF moment.

2 Days Post Op, any tips?

I was sleeved on 18th and I'm sucking down Lucozade sport like a champ now. Very lucky to be in no pain but still have little gas balls inside that are leaving as I rotate my arms etc. Since I'm day 4 since surgery I'm allowed milk, milky coffee, sf squash and thin yoghurts. It gets easier lass, keep hydrated for that first BM tho!

    After surgery

My surgery was on the 18th and by lordy it was a rough 24hrs. But once the catheter and drain were out my pain went away and I managed to walk more. Got out of hospital on the 20th and since then I've just got better each day. Also just managed to go to bathroom without help from meds as that was a painful lesson after gallbladder surgery.

    Day 1 post op

Well ita day 2 post op and liquids are easier now, no more sickness and I should be able to leave hospital tomorrow if all is OK with bloods etc. Just need my own bed!
  5. Holy crap I have never felt that bad before! Throwing up blood repeatedly, shakes, cramps etc. Now 24hrs later I'm waking about laughing and only occasionally nauseous. Life is good
  6. Hi all, tomorrow is my last day of this bloody diet and I'm thankful. Thankful it's taught me I can survive on lots less food than needed, that headhunger is different to normal hunger and low salt levels play havoc on bowel. Did anyone else suffer from issues with the LSD or PreOp diet?
  7. Thanks lass, on my way to hospital now so fingers crossed!
  8. heading to the hospital in an hour myself at 6.45am. just taken my Ranitidine and honestly now trying to not throw up lol

    Liquid Diet Fear!

On my last day of diet and tomorrow is surgery day. Best advice, ease into a few days before you start the diet for real or it's too much of a shock. Just start replacing fizzy juice with a shake, then a meal with a shake etc. Don't worry if you do slip up, it happens to us all, just shake it off and then go back on the wagon. I had to do 3 weeks too and that's with cooking for hubby and a toddler - now it's second nature. The days 1-4 are worse but follow the advice above and you won't have headaches etc

    Leak test

Mine will be done tomorrow before sewing me back up. Think they use methylene blue and once they are happy I'm glued up. Very rare to get a barium done here unless major issues
  11. Got slouch Jammie's and a long tank top with non slip socks. Old set tho as I know we get catheterized.

    PCOS and surgery

Yeah had that happen too but I'm thankful I don't really have pcos symptoms apart form a beard! Have discovered tho that if you have PCOS - don't get the Impanon nexplanon implant as it does weird with bleeding.
  13. Heheheh! Only US sweet I liked was Reese Stix - good bye Reese lol Need to blow up some marshmallows now lol
  14. Best advice is to ease into it a few days before starting it for real. Cut out foods that are crap, don't drink fizzy juice and don't go insane buying stuff. I'm fasting for surgery on Monday so I'm nearly done, Tuesday lunchtime I'm sleeved.

    PCOS and surgery

I have pcos and having surgery on Tuesday - looking forward to regular periods! [emoji12]
  18. Weight loss lass, get the weight down and get tested for PCOS - if that's the reason then the loss will seriously help. And that's coming from someone who has PCOS, lost 10lbs suddenly and 3 pints of blood, got transfused and then found out I was 2 months pregnant in 2014.
  19. Scottish Peeps eat you instead - Sawney Peep rings a bell [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
  20. Aww they are cute (whipped sugar time!) thanks for reply tho - no idea what they were!
  21. Question from a Scot. A Peep to us is a pervert or person - what is the candy one for you guys? #confused
  22. In my experience on this forum it's like primary school again - bitchy comments, snarky remarks, people getting abused because of different ideas. Take this place with a ton of salt - many people have good hearts but a few more have god complex and swallowed Wikipedia. (And as you know - Wikipedia isn't a trusted source!)

    Birth control???

I'm on the nexplanon implant, our programme requires all woman of childbearing age to be on contraception due to risk of pregnancy in first 18 months. It's simple, effective and no hassle with needles every time your shot runs out. Lasts 3 years too. Only thing is, I have pcos so can make periods go a bit weird if you still get them on any type of birth control but I haven't had a period in over a year (spotting yes). Feel free to bump me if you have questions

    Uncontrollable Bowels

You can get dumping with sleeve according my surgeon and said it will happen at least once during the first few months. Also advised that constipation may happen or it will be total loose bowels.
