    Gross topic. Sorry.

One bit of advice is to get a stool softner as well as something like Senna to help you go to the loo AND DONT STRAIN!! Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Healing

Anything up-to 6 months for internal swelling, staple line and muscle repairs to heal. Outside its more just bruises, surgical scars and any staples needing to come out. I'm just shy of three weeks post op and am still bruised to hell and back from Clexane injections and my scars have pretty much totally healed. Internal I'm still a bit swollen but no issues eating or drinking. As long as you listen to your body no matter who tells you what then you'll be fine. Vitamins 🤢

We are prescribed Forceval but the damn things are like bunker buster bombs at just over 2cm long each. Worse is you can feel them pop in your belly. Swapping back to my own at end of week, can't swallow these buggers. Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Day 8 Optifast

Don't worry your doing great, I lost 9kg on liver diet and didn't get into ketosis but liver looked great. I had NAFLD too - itd gone now near 3 weeks post surgery Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

Pain when I eat or sip - 5 days post op

That's exactly what I get so yeah I suppose mine is higher up than yours! And yeah, at the joining of stomach and esophagus (for me that's just below breast bone feeling. Major ouchies when it happens. Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    4 1/2 weeks post op

I'm two weeks out and currently my diet consists of yoghurt, milk, chicken whizzed up, some fruit juice. I do eat a weight watcher meal over 3 days whizzed up and stored as it has enough for me to keep going and chicken bits to snack on. Can't do MR shakes anymore as too much sweetness but um fine with that. I get my liquids in so that's about 1.5 litres of squash etc and at least 1 pint of milk daily. I won't use fitness thing as its too bloody complicated with its macros - I know through our programme what's good and bad and what's sensible. Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

Pain when I eat or sip - 5 days post op

Does it feel like a giant gas ball stuck down the middle of your chest? If so then I still get that 2 weeks post op. Does the pain go away once burping etc? Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. Our liquid post-op diet is for 3 weeks and I've still got one to go, funnily enough Toast with PB is what I want but even tho I am fine with really chunky soups etc I'm not gonna risk toast. Definitely add PB to shakes as it will help. Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Top Chef

I just watch Man V Food and cringe - love the show but I'm like WTF man, just step away from the food! Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. Savlon, Dermol500 emollient, taking an antihistamine is good too. Once my staples were out itching went away. Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Post Op clothes

Wear anything that doesn't rub, trust me your gonna be tender for a wee bit but you don't want to rub the incisions Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. Totally depends on where you are worldwide but here was mine for Glasgow. Preop was 3 weeks liquids and one meal that I changed round with permission to add yoghurts etc. Lost 9kg in that time. Surgery stay is generally 3 days, surgery day/night in HDU as standard. I was sleeved on 18/4 and out on 21St. Have had no pain since first night and taking liquids fine. I had a drain and catheter for 24hrs and no issues after. Pre-op again depends on insurance/NHS/private company. Feel free to ask me anything. Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

  15. Looking good lass! Mind if I ask what your starting weight was? Mine was 168kg and now 147.5kg only two weeks from surgery and that's including liver shrink diet loss. Go sleeve go! Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    2 weeks post op

Depends on your intake and diet plan. Since I'm just shy of two weeks myself on on a purred diet and allowed meats etc. Had a loo visit today and that was my first one in a week but remember if you aren't eating anything it could all be liquid. We are given a stool softner to take every two days and that helps us - whatever you do - don't stress too much. Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Drain tube post sleeve

My drain site was stitched shut to keep the drain in and it was easily picked out and then yanked out for instant relief. No issues since as its solidly sealed up again. Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Pre op bowel prep?

My pre-op was three weeks and trust me it does help clear out the cobwebs in the colon. One word of warning though, make sure you have been to the loo before surgery for a bowel movement as going right after can be difficult due to the meds they give you etc. Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Great documentary

Yeah saw that a few days before my surgery and what really annoyed me is they focused on England and didn't even include us in Scotland where the NHS is run differently and more successful. There is prejudice there but due to people learning more about surgeries like sleeve etc it's becoming less taboo. Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Drain tube post sleeve

I can't speak for yourself as each person is different but when my nurse pulled it out I was just told to exhale hard to help it out. Took 5 seconds for the meter long tube to come out. My pain was discomfort at its worst but LOTS of gas moved so probably may help some Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. Yeah I totally agree. My wound is glued from inside out (apart from staples in stomach) and the surgical clips that were taken out just act as a skin closure to help the glue set. The wee holes won't scar so that's good, just the inch long ones. Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app
  22. No worries and I hope it works, my spasms are gone as I've found the right mix for me - but please, any concerns speak to your doctor! [emoji4] Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Where i go from here

Stick with your plan, trust me it's not worth the set back as we've seen here or with friends etc I'm on thick puree for another wee then soft solids but I'm dying for a bit of toast Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Itchy!

Here is one of my incision scars on day 11, doesn't itch at all now as I use dermal500 and savlon to aid healing. Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app
  25. Just had my staples out yesterday and was sleeved on18th. The itching is healing so don't worry there tho I know it's bloody annoying lol Not sure if you guys in USA get it but Milk Of Magnesia is excellent to take for gas relief and help with constipation. I'be added a photo of what my incision (one of 3) looks like 11 days after surgery and I use Savlon to help them heal. Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app
