    Band no longer in place?!?

Fingers crossed for a quick diagnosis and hopefully not a hunting expedition - when do you see your surgeon? Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App

    Band no longer in place?!?

Eeek, sounds like its majorly slipped or even popped during pregnancy (guideline here is total empty of band when pregnant so it doesn't snap). Are you alright, no pain etc? Keep us informed Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App
  3. Speak to your doctor or paediatrician and come up with a plan, you may have a few months before surgery so any time is good or you he may advise due to health needs not to put it off. Good luck Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App

  6. My friend has just had a sleeve and she was still BF until surgery. Hate to tell you but any doctor will tell you that there is a 70% chance your body May stop producing due to reduced food intake and the stress of what's been done. As a mama, my best advice is store what you can and that way if you do stop producing you can give what's left and move onto full milk. Best wishes Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App

  8. Hi guys, spoke to a surgical friend of mine and was discussing length of procedure etc. I've read a few people on here say their GS only took 35 minutes or their Rny only took an hour and I was surprised and she was Over here our surgical time for bypass is 3 hours and minimum 4 days in hospital. Sleeve is 2hrs and minimum 3 days. Lapband is a potential day surgery. Can I ask how long people stayed. I know vast difference in world medical facilities etc, just time wise is crazy! HAIRLOSS NIGHTMARE

Hi Sunny, I got mine via doctor due to low levels and blood transfusion but my MV contain 200mcg of selenium. I can get them for about £12 for 240 tablets out Holland and Barrets (I'm Scotland) but I'm sure any good health shop will have them. Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App

    HAIRLOSS NIGHTMARE

I have alopecia with pcos anyway so I'm very tempted to just get shaved before surgery. Here is my list of natural products that helped strengthen my hair up. banana & beer hair mask. Argan Oil leave in conditioner Natural coconut shampoo. I have used Nioxin before but it burnt my scalp so not worth it but Selenium is a good extra to take as it strengthens hair and nails. Considering gastric sleeve

Will be a good idea to speak to nuitrionist regarding BF options if your going too consider WLs - people are advised here to wait til either stop BF and move to follow on milk or wait til a year and weaning so they can drink milk instead. Research and basic common sense is that reduced goodness can affect production. Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App
  14. Yeah be careful with PcoS and WLs as it can surprise everyone! Working with our OB/GYn (Scotland here) I was gonna be referred for treatment but fell pregnant naturally - put 60lbs on tho as you do with PCoS. Best tip is get your Folate checked, I'm pre-op but over ten years trying and sucessful suprise in 2014. Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App

    Stop smoking

In our area if you want surgery via NHS you must quit for 6 weeks or start process all over again. If you do want the surgery then quit. I have smoked and each time I wanted cigarettes I put the money into a tub over the space of a year - I paid for my wedding (all of it) plus and two week Mexico honeymoon with what I saved. 16. I was looking at this too and was advised not to use the pill or depo if going for WLS. I've got the Nexplanon implant which I love and it means zero pills to take. Lots of research is best policy but inform surgical team of what's chosen incase contraindicated issues pop up. Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App

  18. Our weight loss program has us do a 3 week diet before we even get referred to the surgeon as it shows how well we may do on post op diet. I voluntary started mine last week and won't be off til January 5th - best time for me so I can enjoy Xmas but also be aware of my issues and why they happen. Interstitial Cystitis and GBP

I'm still preop but have suffered IS in the past and it was excruciating but I do notice that weight loss has helped reduce the frequency of attacks to almost zero. Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App

    Going for bloodwork

Sounds like my issue, in 2014 I needed blood transfusions as my haemoglobin was down at 40 (average is 150 lol). No idea how or why but got treated and diagnosed with B12 anemia and started on those injections. All the while the doctor didn't know I was pregnant (trust me a shock as pcos was told we would never!). Anyway - our GP nurse is like dracula, my veins are deep and squigly and not fun to get - last time she had to use a butterly needle on my neck for 9 vials of the good stuff - ate a huge steak that night and still needed another transfusion Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App
  21. Did you get the registration of the car that hit you? Looks like Heparin bruising but get checked out asap to ensure no other issues. Arnica - will help a lot! Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App

  24. Go to local gastric groups and then click UK in menu. There is no password for those ones Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App
  25. I've just noticed you have been going into the social groups, that may require a password and is NOT the local groups you should be going to. Go via main gastric sleeve, down to support groups and local groups and click UK. Social groups are separate Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App
