  1. Most def ask your doc. It probably depends on how many days post op. I started bacitracin like day 4 or 5 post op daily for about a week.

I spoke to my surgeons office and unlike my surgeon, his NP told me I could take Benadryl and put some hydrocortisone on the rash. Let's see how it works. It looks soooooooo ugly

  2. Hi hope you're feeling better. Im 18 days post op sleeve. I had something similar, redness n itchy. Spoke to doc and put bacitracin daily on all incisions n problem gone n few days.

I'm going to look into that. My doctor said I couldn't use anything because it can get in my incisions and cause an issue but I'm dying over here Thanks for the suggestion.

  3. My chance did they use glue to close your incisions? They did with me and I was allergic to the glue. There was nothing I could do until they were healed. Then I picked off the glue of course per the dr.

That's another part of the story I didn't mention. My dr says that when he went out to inform my family about how my surgery went, someone in the OR asked if they used steri strips and someone said no when they actually do!! Since I was already in recovery they couldn't go back and take the bandages off and add them. So my incisions have no derma bond or anything covering them. He said that it could also be the stuff the stuff they rub on the surgery site before they operate could be irritating it along with the binder.

  4. Hello all. Today I am one week post op and wanted to ask a question. I noticed Saturday that I started getting a rash around my longest incision. I called my surgeons office and they prescribed me a children's antibiotic. I followed up with them yesterday and they said it was probably the binder rubbing against my incisions so I started putting my binder over whatever top I wear for the day. He also said I couldn't put anything on it because it can get near my incisions and cause an infection. So today it's itchy as all hell and when I checked them, the rash has spread a lil more! Any suggestions??

  5. Sorry you're feeling this way. I had my surgery on 1/17 and maybe yesterday or the day before did I start feeling a "lil" better. Between the bruises on my arms from the 2 IV's I had to get and the one failed one, trying to get Water down and the terrible gas pain that rises from my belly when I try to drink, feeling like my insides are gonna rip every time I sneeze or cough, it's a lot. Regardless of how many YT vids I watched, I wasn't prepared for it. I have a son so I know exactly what you mean. All we can do is try and reach our goals that were set for us and hopefully it will get better soon ❤️

  6. I was sleeved on Jan. 17. I had a rough time recovering in the hospital including an extra night stay. I was sent home after being able to keep down liquid pain meds and some Water.

I'm really struggling to drink the Water. I'm nauseous and I have major food aversions. The thought of eating or drinking makes me physically ill. I have probably had 64 oz of water since Monday. It's now Friday. How do I get this water down. It just and makes me sick.

Ps. My surgeon said my surgery went very well and was easy breezy because I did so well on my 2 week pre op diet.

Sounds like my story. I had to stay an extra night and am struggling with water. Every time I take a small sip, I feel like I have to burp but it doesn't come out and it can hurt. Gas x strips are making me nauseous and I actually spit up some acid yesterday when trying to drink some chicken broth. I think I can only tolerate really cold or really Hot drinks. Room temp water or anything else makes me want to throw up. I'm supposed to start adding Protein shakes back into my diet tomorrow. Should be fun

  7. I wish I could say my experience was the same. I had my surgery on Tuesday 1/17 and didn't get discharged til Thursday 1/19. I'm sore as hell, every time I take a sip of Water a gas bubble comes up and it makes me want to throw up. I've been working on a bottle of Water since 7pm last night and am barely half way thru it. Gas x strips aren't helping much. It feels very uncomfortable. I had to sleep sitting up against pillows when I got home. Not sure how I'm supposed to get 64oz of water in. Not feeling well at all

  8. I could never get the "right answer" after watching a bunch of YT videos. One thing I did notice is that they have you hooked up to an IV still when they have you start walking so here is what I packed:

    Deodorant

    Toothbrush

    Toothpaste

Cleansing wipes (in case I can't shower there)

    Brush

    Medicines I filled

    A change of clothes

    Undies

    Sports bra

    No slip socks

    Gas x strips

    Anything else I should bring?

  9. Today is my last day for my 2 week liquid diet and surgery is tomorrow. I resisted temptation. It's not easy AT ALL but I managed to stick to my Protein shakes every 4 hours once I woke up and Water. I brought to work my premier Proteins. My son and bf were eating food in front of me for the last 2 days and I just kept thinking, I've lost 15lbs so far and I don't want to mess things up. Keep yourself busy and don't put yourself in a situation where you won't be able to resist temptation. Good luck!

  10. I am on all liquids for two weeks. My surgery is January 23rd. I am so frustrated and anxious that i want to taste or chew some food right. I am trying to think about preparing my mind for my surgery. I am drinking Protein shakes 3 times a day. I could have strained Soups and broth. No meat, dairy or vegetables that I have to chew. So right now I am miserable. Tired and ready to throw in the towel for my survery

I feel your pain. I've been on a liquid diet since 1/3 and my surgery is on Tuesday. I'm surprised I haven't cheated. I've just been doing shakes every 4 hrs from about an hour after I wake up and drink Water mostly. The only thing that has me somewhat motivated is the fact that I have lost 15lbs so far. Hang in there ❤️
