I have type 2 diabetes was on metformin , victoza, and insulin pump. They stopped metformin victoza before surgery. I am still on my insulin pump but the amount of insulin required every hour has decreased. My endocrine doc said even though I am type 2 some peoples pancreas act like type one the longer you have been diabetic. Everyone is different. My a1c was 10.9 in march started the insulin pump and brought it down to 8 in 3 months then Sept it was 7.8 so I was able to have the surgery a month ago. Sleeve , try not to be devastated as you want to be healthy and your body ready for surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
