  1. I had major bruising too. It goes away. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. Definatly tell your dr.! It may be as you said, a reaction to whatever they used but you do NOT want it to get any more infected or you may have more serious issues on your hands! Keep us posted and good luck. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. My go to has become the Premier Protien Shakes (sorry OCC but that Vitaleph is disgusting!) Premier is low sugar, high protien and premade. Additionally, you dont just have the option of choc, vanilla or strawberry but flavors like caramel and banana cream. May be available is stores too but I think the best option is to just order on line. Awesome wgt loss to date. Keep it up. I too was a water guzzler and am 2 1/2 wks post op. Its definatly a learning experience Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using BariatricPal mobile app

  11. Close to 6 mos researching.....Tijuana bound for Gastric Sleeve at OCC with Dr.Ariel Ortiz. So ready!!!
  12. Regarding previous post..... (stupid auto correct!) "Any Mass GASTRIC SLEEVERS out there" (and) "6-8 weeks for APPROVAL" Geeze!
  13. DAMN TYPOS....."6-8 weeks to get APPROVAL"
  14. So.....I spent my 6 plus mos jumping through hoops to fulfill all requirements requested by Mass Health. Request from my PCP, support group meetings, psy analysis, blood work, meeting with nutritionist, and losing weight through out this time frame. I met with my surgeon this past Monday, got the ok and was told our final step is to submit all these verifications to Mass Health! It has been a long journey and I am so ready... Then, the kicker!!! I was told it takes an ADDITIONAL 6 to 8 weeks to get the appropriate v all! Wth? ANY sleepovers out there from Western Ma on Mass Health? Did it truly take 2 more mos? I am so frustrated right now. Input, PLEASE!
  15. I know the subject of surgery in Mexico has been addressed before but have ANY of you had wls with Dr.Ariel Ortiz? I have heard a few positive reviews but wanna hear from you!!! Please reply if applicable. Thank you in advance Kim622 Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
  16. They have yummy applesauce....mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes,Soups....and may be too soon but they make chili too! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
  17. An abcess is just a fancy word for infection. Sadly easy to get between surgery and a hospital full of other ill folk. Antibiotics (via iv-at this point, Id think) should get you thru it. Hoping just a minor thing in your journey. Keep us posted. Kim Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
  18. Me too! My dates not til April but this whole "sips" and " but not while you eat" sounds so frustrating to me!
  19. I have begun my journey and started thru my "requirements"-attending la minimum of 2 support group mtngs, visits with nutritionist, psy eval next week, blood work in Jan. However, upon reading the requirements of Mass Health, it says they decide on it case by case. My question... my fear-is Ill fulfill my 6 mos requirements only to be denied. Ill be devestated. Should that occur-I will consider traveling to Mexico. Anyone else out there dealing with Mass Health able to offer any input? My bmi is 40 plus and I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea, high blood pressure and have osteoarthritus in my knees. Help! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
  20. I ended up going online to mass.gov to read bout requirements. And yes, my Dr/Surgeons office seem to be handling it but I'm still researching in case I get denied and or have to appeal. M.N.B......what part of Mass are you from? I'm a Western Ma girl. Thank u 4 sharing! Sent from my KFTBWI using the BariatricPal App
  21. Anyone from Mass using Mass Health as their ins. provider? I know every company has their "requirements". Might anyone have this info? Much appreciated! Kim Sent from my KFTBWI using the BariatricPal App
