Hi Molly!! I really got a lot oout of this book myself. My pastor's wife did this one discipleship training at my chuch. I really enjoy reading Beth's books. She' speaks so heart-spoken in her books.

Hey all!! I get banded May 13th!!!! Now if I can figure out how to bring my timeticker over....

Here's what I was told in my pre-op class... Of course this is based on how my doc places the band....He attaches it to the abdominal muscle wall well beneath my fat and skin. I will have to push pretty good to feel the port. So, he says no problem if I accidently get hit in the area.

My band date is May 13th. I have to do a 4wk pre-op diet that consists of 2 protein shakes a day (35gms of proteineach), one protein snack (15gms) and one sensible meal. I'm on the surgeon's waiting list so I have already started the stuff. I use the Bariatrix also and find it to be higher in protein than some of the other's I see being used. I think this really helps me to feel fuller and satisfied much longer. So far, 4days and no problems. I mix my shakes with choc syrup in the strawberry one, coffe and choc in the vanilla, coconut in the vanilla, etc to help break the routine.

I'm still here too. I check in every day. Talkinjack, how are you since your banding? Livn4jesus and Diamond2008, will be praying for you both this week and weeks to come. I had my pre-op class on 4/1, and really no April fool's there!! I'm scheduled for May 13th, but also on waiting list. I went ahead with hubby's support and started my pre-op protein shake diet. Thank the Lord I get one "sensible" meal a day (sounds familiar, huh?-smile) Actually, the Lord's allowing me to tolerate it better than I thought. When I get the urge to cheat, I remember that it's the devil using my strongest weak point (food) to discourage me. Again...PTL!!! He allows me to defeat the devil and have victory.

I'm also being banded by Dr. Antonetti on 5/13. Went to seminar on 3/3. I'm self-pay so it's moving pretty fast. Only slowdown is they're 6wks into surgery schedule. I'm on pre-op diet and wait list in hopes of being moved up!!

You have SC Obesity Ctr at lexington hosp. I'm getting banded 5/13. Went to seminar on 3/3, had psych eval from one of their top psychs on 3/20, had pre-op class on 4/1. I am self-pay but based on how I've been treated so far, I highly recommend them. Lexington hosp is right off 26 coming in from charleston.

It is sad that anybody can claim to be a Christian. But will be much sadder when they face our Lord and deny the fact that He died on the cross for our sins, rose the third day, so we could have life everlasting with Him!!

suellen, we're doing First Place at our church. I'm on 4th week and really do like the bible devotions that go along with it. The same ladies did it several yrs back and wanted to do it again. The only downfall I have, is the diet. It doesn't work for me so we all decided to use what works for us (2 are doing the WW points, one the flex), me? well...LB is it!!!!! But still, going for the support and the daily devotions, that's what I make of ours!!!

I have a First Place mtg at my church tonight and this week's devotion touched on being truthfull to your friends who you know will pray for you. So I have decided to be honest and let them know of my upcoming surgery. God is so good...no, He's GREAT!!!!!

Lynn, how are you doing? I too am like you. I thought of this surgery last yr but felt like I was really letting God down by not relying on Him. I prayed hard about it. My trust is in Him so I asked Him to close any doors He can to show me this is not the way to go. Well, here I am now with a band date. I go in May 13th for my band. Up until now, He has made it a smooth ride and provided the money (self-pay too). I also know He can still close the door even morning of....I'm trusting He will do just that if He wants it that way!! I'm so glad I found this site....PTL!!!!

I pray for God to give you strength and peace for your family. may He comfort you, for His grace is always!! Hang in there. Having your heart in the right place will get you thru this.

You do have to be careful with BCBS. I work for BCBS of SC and it does depend on what your contract says. I deal with individual policies and small business...NEITHER pay!!! It is interesting, though, to see how many other states of BC do pay. They won't even pay mine as an empolyee-ha!:confused2:

Hi all! I just set my date for May 13th. Self-pay so it's going pretty quickly. Already went to seminar, one support grp, cleared by psych (whom I'm glad I get to see thru all of this). I pulled extra $$ to cover my DVT tests, but found out it's included with my $13950 total cost. SC Obesity Center rocks!!! I go April 1st (ha) for my pre-op class and wonderful pre-op diet instructions. This is all my 40th b-day present to myself. I need to be down to 145...didn't weigh that since I was 10-12yrs old. I just hope my body will go down that far. I'm at 245 right now, 5" 6".
