  1. Hi ...i felt really good the day of surgery..i had to spend the night in the hospital and the next couple days were the worst.....not that they were bad but just uncomfortable not in constant pain or anything just uncomfortable but now im two weeks out and i feel 100%...i even went back to the gym doing zumba and eliptical.....

  2. I was rebanded last wednesday due to a slip and i have to say that i am doing really well i dont have chest pain but i did have gas trapped up in my shoulders but that is gone now...the only thing i feel is the port but other than that i am doing fine....the only thing i can tell you is to call your dr., they are there for you and if you have a question then you should call....if they want to see you then great..you will find out what it def is....most likely swelling and gas but im no dr but i read alot about what people say they are feeling after the surgery and you are not alone but if you are worried call your dr...good luck to you

  3. general is really not that bad...and usually they will give you a sedative when you are in pre op....i swear that stuff makes you have not a care in the world...i was always scared of general and i have had a few surgeries and i am still nervous going under but there is nothing wrong with being nervous...i think everyone is....do you have any other health issues cause if not then it should really be a piece of cake

  4. Hi...i am getting surgery tomorrow to have my band taken out and replaced with the realize band....i found out that my band had slipped in oct and the dr unfilled it and he wants to replace it with a newer band since mine was originally done in 06...he thinks the newer bands are better i guess....my question is, i am really nervous i dont know why i have already been thru this once but how long does it take to take the old band out???? i just want to know how long i will be under for...my first surgery the dr told me took 27 min to place the band so i am curious

  5. Tennessee,

thank you so much...u really dont know how your posts help someone like me who feels like a failure cause i let my first band slip after only losing 40lbs...my dr. unfilled it in oct and i too gained about 8lbs back..i get my new band this wednesday dec 30th...and although i am extremely nervous, i feel like its a brand new start for me...i just hope that everything goes as smooth as the first time i had the surgery!!!!

  6. First day on the forum here. I had an egd done last week due not being able to get a fill without getting major GERD.I was banded 5 1/2 years ago and last 80 initially before the weight started back on. Im now up 40 pound and feel like a failure.:o I have always had an issue with vomiting and serious restricted on the foods I cannot eat.The Dr. said my band has slipped down creating it to have a mushroom type effect over the top of the band with stomach. So I am waiting for insurance to approve a fix and preparing myself for yet another pre op diet followed by the liquid. I am trying to be positive that things will work out. Just needing to vent....and wanting to be thin.

i just found out that my 10cc band had slipped...i had mild discomfort but no real pain or anything that would scare me, in fact i went in for another fill and the dr. found the slip...he told me that i have to get it repaired and he unfilled the band. he also stated that my 10cc band is rarely used anymore and he wants to put the newer band in...he says it looks like there is no erosion but i still cant help but be so scared to do this all over again....i dont want to lose my band but i am scared......

  7. hi...i was banded in nov 06...in march of 08 my dr said that he could not access my port and somehow it flipped...i occasionally did feel pain in my port but i didn't think that it had flipped so i had surgery to reposition it and the surgery was a piece of cake and that was in april....now i am experiencing pain in the port site when i walk for a long period so i am worried that mine has flipped yet again....i would go to the dr if it is constant pain.....

  8. I just got back from my doctors visit since i have not been in 10 months....i went to get another fill and they took xrays since its been awhile....my doctor said everything looks beautiful but one thing....my port...it has flipped on its side...i am not in any pain except for occasionally but i never thought that it had flipped.....i am scheduled for surgery on March 21st to have it restitched or possibly have it replaced...the doc won't know until he goes in...i am nervous to have this done although my initial surgery was really not that bad but i am still nervous...has anyone had to have revisional surgery or port replacement surgery????
