    Purée recipes anyone?

Look on Amazon Kindle for bariatric sleeve recipes. I bought 3 books today and they had a shake book too. They have recipes for each stage of the recovery. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

    Vomiting/Dry heaving

I have had nausea with this as well as my friend. We are surgically just a couple weeks apart. I asked for a scapolsmine patch, small doses of Ativan and I have an essential oil diffuser and I use lemon or peppermint essential oils and let them permeate the air. I was desperate to do anything that I could to rid the nausea. I'm a nurse so I know what to ask for. It has helped my friend and me and I'm so glad. I have also seen this combination work with my cancer patients. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

    Hot Sauce

I have carried packets of Tabasco in my purse for years! They told me that I wouldn't be able to touch it for a long time. You guys just gave me hope because everything needs a little kick Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
  4. I had mine Nov 7th and at Stanford it's protocol for the sleeve patients to be on liquid diet for 4 weeks, puree for 1 week, and soft for 1 week. It sounds like a long time but they created a new seem in your stomach and that is a lot to heal where as the bypass patients have less surface area to heal. My friend had her bypass 2 weeks before I had my sleeve at the same place and she is eating food already and I still hurt and can't imagine food yet... 5. I would totally call your doctor. You should have never been able to leave the hospital without that scan. With how serious things can get you need to be evaluated Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
  6. Hi I had my sleeve done on the same day and I feel the same way! I refuse to look at the scale because I'm scared that I haven't lost anything. You aren't alone Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
  7. My surgery was on 11/7 and I would like to go on vacation as soon as I heal. We are driving from San Francisco to Victoria Island. Eating on the road is going to happen. I will bring as much as I can but it's going to happen. I will eat out. I really don't want to screw up this surgery and stay overweight... Any ideas? I might be premature on this

I'm only going to travel when I can eat solids. Otherwise I will hurt myself and that would ruin all my hard work. I absolutely think that sharing food is responsible. Although, my boyfriend thinks it rude to the restaurant if I ask for a plate to share his meal. I think he has a lot of things he needs to get used to. I only see eating as a means to survive, not pleasure anymore. I'm hoping he will get used to this new way of life and start making changes to his diet as well, he is not thin and needs to lose weight too. Thanks for your advice. I'm so glad to have the support of everyone here. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
  12. I'm not trying to be gross but since my 4th day I have been having diarrhea. All my Fluid is going out the other end and I can't fart with confidence. I'm not using laxatives at all. I'm doing everything to not get dehydrated. I have also since day 1 had a horrible time controlling the pain. All I hear from the hospital is drink more and no imodium. What do I do? Nov 7th sleeve

I am, liquids are a huge part of everything but I have added yogurt and cream of anything Soup. I was hoping the dairy would slow it down. Not yet... I find it much easier to unplug myself rather than stop diarrhea. I have no veins left, everything was blown while I was in the hospital and I have an underlying condition that makes me an impossible stick so going into the hydration clinic is a horrible thought unless they give me a pic line. This so frustrating. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

    Premier protein

I did, it was the milk in it that made me bloat and have smelly gas. I use isosource now and have no problem Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

    Stiches

I'm allergic to latex and Steri stripes. They had to glue me. But if you have any pain, redness and swelling, that is probably an infection. If it's just itching, cleanse with soap and Water and apply a cold compress Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

    Weed.

You need a medical marijuana card, then you can sign up with a delivery service or you can go to a club. I have a family member who owns a delivery service and they won't come out unless you purchase $60 or more. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
  17. I'm a hot mess! A huge ball of anxiety. I say horribly inappropriate rude things to staff when I am like this. They just need to drug my butt when I get there. I am a nurse and was a Paramedic for years so I know everything that is going to be happening and I am totally OK doing it to other people, not having it done to me. I sound awful but I can't help it right now. Wish me luck and maybe the staff too. We will all need it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

    GAS!

I had mine the same day and have the same problem with gas. I totally recommend walking. It has helped. And repositioning frequently when laying down. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

    Weed.

I use a Cbd patch made by Mary's. Some have been derived from hemp but the one's that have an extremely low thc dose and high cbd count helps with anxiety and pain. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

Wow it's starting to be so real

Please remember something, pain is the 5th vital sign. Your patient right is to have your pain treated. If your pain is at level 6 and climbing, ask for a stronger pain medication. I'm a nurse and sometimes some nurses forget this part of their education. Not trying to scare you, I just want you to be able to advocate for yourself. 23. I'm on the liquid diet before my surgery on the 7th. I'm drinking the Protein shakes as directed. Here is the embarrassing part, I have horrible gas. I am making my room stink. I was staying with my boyfriend last night and I thought I could sneak a couple out after he fell asleep and it was so bad that he woke up! This is so wrong! Will this ever get better? I am toxic and I'm going to start melting paint! Please say I am not the only one who is going through this... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

  25. Does anyone have any suggestions about what I should pack as far as food and supplements? I will be 10 weeks out when we leave. I know that I will have to eat 4 - 6 times a day. It just feels so complicated to pack so much stuff. I will not postpone the trip because I need to relax and enjoy this life. I probably need to research hospitals too... Also, any suggestions for containers? Thanks in advance for your advice Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
