  1. Hi. I am three weeks postop from sleeve surgery I have no problem drinking broth and drinking coffee. My problem is drinking Water. Every time I drink Water it seems to upset my stomach and I seem to get sick. Does anyone else have these issues? If so what do you drink?

  2. I haven't had surgery just started this journey. My mom passed away in Feb of a blood clot. I'm terrified of developing a clot after surgery. I know the thing to do is Walk... Walk.... Walk. It still scares me. I heard some doctors give you blood thinner meds after surgery.

    Thoughts? Comments?

My grandmother and father in law also have passed from blood clots... They actually gave me a blood thinner to prevent clots... And yes i heard walking walking will help... Iam so sorry you lost your mom recently... Much love to you and im praying for you

Just keep sipping...that is a priority for you right now...to stay hydrated. Sucking on ice might help too. Water can be hard to get down at first. Take small sips and I found taking a deep breath can sometimes relieve that stuck feeling. Mixing a little bit of juice in water made drinking a lot easier for me. What you are going through its normal. Every day will get better. Hang in there!

  6. Honestly, even though I'm only 25, I've already gone through a handful of surgeries in my life. Not fun! I will tell you that EVERY time I have surgery, I start to think to myself, "What if I don't wake up? What if something goes wrong?" I think that's a perfectly normal fear to have.

When I expressed this fear about my surgery tomorrow, my dear husband reminded me of this: These are trained professionals. They are there to make sure we get through surgery safely. That is literally their job, and they've done it countless times. They KNOW what they are doing.

Hopefully remembering that helps you. Post again when it's almost your date and I'll keep you in my prayers!

Thank you so much for these words... It does help me to know these are Normal feelings when you feel alone... Im 37 and have never had surgery well besides when i was 14 for tonsil and adnoids lol
