My New Journey
Congrats! I was just banded on the 4th of March and am doing very well. I started a blog (Lise The Loser’s Weblog) to document every step of the process! How are you doing with the liquid and mushy stages? Are you still having any port pain? Best of luck with EVERYTHING - I know you will do fabulously!

Sweet Eaters.... Lap Band?
I've found alternatives to sweets like my slimfast-a-chinos (see recipe in my blog) and sugarfree hot cocoa. Plus, freezing sugarfree yogurt and eating it like icecream. it's worked just fine for me!

March 4 - LP Day
Good to know I'm not alone!!! I go back to work tomorrow, as well. I work at an ad agency so most of my day is behind a computer or in meetings. Not too wild and crazy (except for some of our clients)! I'm hoping I can work a full day. A bit nervous about driving ... pressure of the seatbelt, etc. :smile2:

Banded at Northwest Weight Loss (Everett)
I was banded by the amazing Dr Montgomery on 3/4/08 (about 5 days ago) and am doing very well...some port pain but that's about it. I even started a blog to document EVERYTHING since the surgery...brave, I know! Check it out here: Lise The Loser’s Weblog I go back in for my post-op checkup on tuesday. Hoping everything will be ok. I was self-pay and my goal is to lose about 75-100 lbs. Looking forward to meeting other banders from NWWLS. Lise

it was really hard for me, as well...but 3 days before i did slimfast (which i perfected to taste like a frappuccino) and lost 4 lbs in 3 days. my doc told me to lose 5 lbs so i was in good shape by the time my surgery came around.

just curious - how would you know if it is an infection or just "typical" pain in the port area?

Can coughing, sneezing, etc be dangerous?
wow. stories like yours make me wonder how any of us will be able to go for more than 10 years without some sort of problem with our ports...ugh. it's like one bad cold/flu and the risk of the port flipping goes up so much higher. i wonder how they will fix this in years to come as they get more advanced with the surgery.
