At the very beginning I was weighing every few days. I currently weigh weekly but my weight loss has slowed down so I am moving to once a fortnight. Also I think it is important to consider other factors other than weight only, for instance my scale also measure fat and muscle % and I have purchase a special pair of leggings to measure waist and hips

Hi Jackie my weight loss is slowing down too, in the last month I only lost 5 pounds. I can eat more now and I regularly hit 1200 calories per day and often more. Don't give up! Slow loss is still loss I am starting exercising more to make up for the increased calories intake.

The first time I tried Saxenda I was injecting before bed and I end up having very bad indigestion symptoms and stopped when started violently throwing up at night. Apparently it slows down the digestion and sugar absorption if I remember well. The second time I did the injections in the mornings and it didn't work at all. If you are scheduled for surgery in June I would suggest to let your surgeon know if you start any new prescription drug. Good luck

I think the first 2/3 days were the worse pain wise. I hardly had any pain at all from the 3rd day onwards and I stopped taking paracetamol from day 5. After that you could still have some discomfort swallowing because of the gas, the more you walk the quicker it will go

Hi m12345 are you on clear liquid or full liquids? If on full liquids you can have any kind of Soup (blended and diluted to liquid consistency), strained yogurt, Protein shakes. If you are still on Clear Liquids and you are doing well you can maybe contact you surgeon and ask if you can progress a bit earlier. I did it with my surgeon and he was happy for me to.

Blondie88 I am speechless, you have really been through hell! I wish a very quick recovery. Did anybody offer you some insight of how you've got an infection from your stomach? Did you have a leak?

Have you tried to use a different kind of milk, like soy or almond milk? You can also try to add a teaspoon of smooth almond/cashew/peanut butter or a banana to the blender. I also hear of Protein Water but I haven't tried it yet

Dear Angelica I was wondering have you though about something more transient than sleeve gastrectomy like gastric balloon? I am not a doctor but to me it doesn't look like you have lots of weight to lose!
Christina.Rose: seriously?!?

The only people who know I am having VSG are my husband, my mother (as I will need help with my little one post surgery) and my 2 best friends, I am not planning to tell anybody else. I had to inform work I am having some surgery, as the surgeon advised I will need to take around 2 weeks off but I didn't say which surgery (and neither was asked tbh). If someone asks I will probalby say gallbladder removal (I actually had it removed almost 15 years ago lol).

How often do you weigh

I am nearly 4 months after surgery and I now weigh once at week as my weight loss is quite slow. I also take measurements of hip and waist.
