  1. I was wondering if anyone has any insurance to cover them in case of complications post bariatric surgery? I am self pay, have regular health insurance, but it does not cover WLS. I also have supplimental Hospital Indemnity insurance. However, if I have complications from VSG, I want to make sure I am covered. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  2. It may be jealousy. When you talk to her, has it been all about surgery and life after? Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  3. I believe it depends on the surgeon's office but I'm a self-pay so it's $2,500 more expensive for the bypass Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

  7. So, my father's side of the family has a history of polycystic kidneys. This usually appears in the mid 30's. I have been tested and am almost 40, so I don't think it will affect me. However, since Protein consumption is not good for polycystic kidneys, has anyone dealt with this? My fear is that post surgery, I might eventually get this and then I will have issues with protein. 8. I lucked out with the psych, but my PCP has requested I do a cardiac test even though EKG was normal. The surgeon is not requiring but figure I might as well get clarence, just in case. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  9. So, I went to my surgeon to discuss surgery. I have all my appts and scripts for gallbladder, blood, etc....but no psych. They told me I didn't need it. Anyone else not require? Ps...I am self pay Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  10. See the surgeon tomorrow...hope to set the date. Have my blood, cardio, gallbladder scan all next week. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  11. If my insurance covered it. I would definitely wait. However, since mine does not by my employers exclusion. I am self pay. I have bounced back and forth on Mexico or local. Like Woo Woo said ...something comforting about having my surgeon local. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

  13. Haven't scheduled yet. I am self pay, so it will take me as long as I need to get my labs and scopes done. I will see Dr Teixeira on Jan 6th...hopefully we can schedule then Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

  18. I am going to Dr Teixeira in Orlando. He practices with Dr. Jawad. My sister is a CRNA in the hospital they do surgery and she said good things about him. If she trusts him, so will I. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

  20. I haven't had my surgery yet, but when I did my shoulder surgery, I wish I was nude. When they were pulling the breathing tube, I started coughing and pee'd myself in my undies, no catheter. My anesthestitist was a friend and filled me in as to why they were off post surgery. I was more embarrassed over peeing myself than if they had me only in a gown Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  21. I have not had my sleeve, yet. But my belly looked like that after a different surgery because I was too active. I was suppose to be resting. How much are you walking? Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  22. I am self pay but not likely to have surgery until Feb. So, I am not grocery shopping...just eating what's in the house up until I have to stop. I just hate to throw it away. Funny thing, my appetite has gone down since I made the decision to have surgery. Also eating healthier, since I am not eating out either. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  23. What? You mean this isn't my skeletal structure ? Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

  25. Had another discussion with the family tonight. This time it included my brother's in laws. His MIL has the bypass 19 years ago. She shared her God and bad stories. This genuine support warms me and makes me a bit sad to see other people not getting the same support from family Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
