  10. Unfortunately, it appears it is definitely the norm for certain users. But you'll get to know who they are though and can just skip over their comments (that worked for me). You can get a lot of good information and positive reinforcements from most users here if you can look pass the negativity. At the end of the day these tools help us fix whats on the outside, but the inside is a whole different story. Thanks to the original poster for hopefully helping some of us avoid what sounds like a very debilitating mistake. Sent from Dee~Dee via BariatricPal
  11. I put myself on pre-op diet to test my 'will power' 6 days ago. Its ruff, believe me I understand! But I just keep saying to myself... "mind over matter". You're likely fighting a food addiction as am I. Are you going to let it win? Ask yourself, how bad do I really want this? You can do this!!! Dont give up on yourself... Get back in there and fight for your life!!!! Sent from Dee~Dee via BariatricPal
  12. Yeah you're right. Worrying doesnt help anything... Im just going to focus on my lifestyle change until I can get an answer and trust that things will work in my favor.Congratulations to you Thanks Sent from Dee~Dee via BariatricPal

  15. Thanks for sharing that info. Im curious, do you think it's better if the hygiene complaints with the primary start before or after surgery? Or does it make any difference? Sent from Dee~Dee via BariatricPal
  16. Im so sorry to hear your struggle. My vote would be to go for it too. You could even use it for motivation. The help of a good counsellor is excellent advice. Divorce has a way of always coming at the worse times. When I realized mine was pending... I'd just started school and had two little children to tend to alone. It was the WORST feeling but more importantly the BEST feeling when I walked across that stage with my degree. That "motivation " worked in my favor. Good luck to you! Prayers! 17. Hi everyone. Just wondering if there were any updates/APPROVALS?? :-) Sent from Dee~Dee via BariatricPal
  18. Soooo... First time posting ... My surgeon's office (Beltline Bariatrics- ATL) submits my paperwork to insurance today for gastric sleeve approval and I've gone from being super anxious to getting sooo nervous. I'd really hoped to have the procedure prior to new years to avoid extra expenses. But at this point that would require a "smooth" and swift approval, which I realize might be wishful thinking. I've put myself on the pre-op diet 4 days ago to test my will power. Oh how it's been rough (irritable as hell!!!! ), but I'm completely committed. I can see that this is going to be far from a walk in the park... Is anyone else playing the waiting game ? PLEASE REMEMBER ME IN YOUR PRAYERS! Sent from Dee~Dee via BariatricPal
  19. Did anyone with GERD prior to surgery have a surgeon to still recommend GSV (sleeve)? If so how did things work out post-op? I've heard people reference a contraindications several times. Concerned that my surgeon is aware of my GERD and recommended the sleeve. What is that going to mean for me? Sent from Dee~Dee via BariatricPal
