Pre or post surgery? I love tomato soup too, but it caused me way too much acid (GERD), post op. Just be careful with it.

try holding a pillow against your incisions - it really does help hold everything in place

Heidikat is correct. The pillow will brace you for coughing, sneezing and laughing. Press the pillow firmly enough to brace yourselves.
