    cannot stand food

I agree with everyone so far. I was extremely nauseous around the same time you are. I couldn't eat and everything smelled bad and made me get sick. It was an awful time for me. I sipped on Isopure drinks during the day to get the Protein in and ate what my body could tolerate. I bugged the hell out of my NUT and she assured me that time and healing would help and that when I saw her at 6 month post-op visit, I would be a different person. For me, it happened overnight and suddenly I was able to eat and not be sick anymore. I feel great now! My advise is only to do what you can, listen to your body and this too shall pass...you are doing great! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  7. I liked Isopure. They have 40g of Protein and are considered a clear liquid. They come in fruit flavors and are available at Vitamin type stores. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

    Feeling really weak

From what I know, you are still healing and can only increase your intake very slowly. You are probably burning right through the small amount of calories you take in. It will take some time for this part of the process but, I promise you, it will get better and you will be able to eat more and have tons of energy! Everyone heals differently, so be patient (if you can...if know it's hard) Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

    New and Nervous!

Welcome! It all really depends on your surgeon's office and their scheduling. Insurance may take a few weeks for an approval and then they will schedule you. I started visit 1 in March last year and was sleeved end of September. Every insurance and office is different. Good luck!! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

  11. It's so challenging right out of the gate. I would just focus on what you can do. I'm not sure what is the "correct" amount but I know for me, I just took it day by day...it WILL get better... Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

    Five years ago today...

Wow. You have captured the heart and soul of so many people post-op and gave a voice to the amazing experience of truly living. Just living. I am 4 months post-op and can say many of the things you have said. I didn't realize how heavy I was and how many things in life I couldn't do or experience. I have to have a cocktail dress for an event and was nervous about shopping. It was so gratifying to find many dresses in regular sizes and actually have them all fit! So much fun. I am going to share your post with several people in my life that need this. Thank you so much...please keep writing and inspiring!! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

    I need your input, please

Congrats on your decision! Ditto to what everyone else has said....consecutive visits, one per month...no skipping. I was upset that just when I made THE decision, I had to wait 6 months....but, it went fast, I learned a ton and am thankful for the process. Before you know it, you will be 4 months post-op like me! 16. I like pork rinds. They surprised me as to how much Protein they have and no carbs or sugar. Just be careful because they can become a slider food...only have a few to satisfy the crunch. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  17. You look fantastic! My starting pics look so much like yours. I am 4 months out and can see my body shape now in one of your middle pics. Can't wait to see my 150lb pic like yours! Thanks for sharing. Congrats!! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

    Pshyc Evaluation

Same as everyone else with the sit down part. Just making sure it is for the right reasons...etc. I also had to fill out 200+ multiple choice questionnaire. Kind of like a personality test. Took some time but it really wasn't that bad. I guess it depends on the dr. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

    No support at home

Awesome job! I am also at 63 lbs, 3 1/2 months!! You are totally right about the photos...they truly tell the story. I still see the same shape in the mirror, even though it is much smaller. Keep up the good work...you look amazing!! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

    Trying Hard Here!

This is definitely not a quick fix or easy way out!! It makes me sad that people can't be supportive of a choice that is so positive. This surgery is just a kick start to an amazing journey to health and happiness. Just kick butt and prove to yourself that you made the right choice and they will eventually have no choice but to agree with you. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  21. I had my surgery on September 27th - SW 260, and just hit my 3 month Mark- CW 200. I did hit a stall period for a couple of weeks but I started going to the gym regularly and the scale then continued to move. The beginning for me was very rough but once I healed and got through the rough patches, I feel amazing. This surgery was the perfect decision for me! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

    Nausea?

So frustrating, right?? I swore it would never end. My family got to a point where they were mocking me because it was so routine and comical. You will heal different then anyone else, so it's hard to say how long it will last. For me, I was just over 2 months post-op. I went from a bad gag-reflux issue/vomiting/bad sense of smell to 100% normal overnight. So weird. Don't give up hope, just take your meds, eat what you can, get your fluids in and just take it day by day. It WILL get better and you will LOVE your decision! When did you start loving your sleeve?

I swore to my surgeon and nutritionist that what symptoms I was experiencing were never going to end! They both promised me that my body would heal and turn a corner and I would feel somewhat normal again. I usually stay pretty optimistic but I was just like you...miserable and concerned. Just after thanksgiving (2 months post-op), it was like a switch and I was seriously good to go! Now I have energy, can eat just about anything, workout frequently and am loving all of it!! I was very sick, lactose intolerant, animal Proteins made me sick and was just weak; NOT a cheerleader of the surgery at that point. Today: go team go! WLS for the win!!! 25. It's a different journey for each of us! It can be hard not to be discouraged to see someone loose more and faster then you. Knowing our bodies are different and your loss is what it is for you is a great attitude to have. Looks like you are doing amazing! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
