Dianne, I'm so sorry you have to go through this. Please know that I've got you in my prayers for an easy surgery and a speedy recovery. I truly appreciate you sharing what's happened. It does help all of us learn that can happen...after all as much as the band is a useful tool we do still have to keep in mind things can go wrong so that we're more aware of what is in our bodies. I haven't gotten my band yet but, this is definately a question I'll bring up to see if my surgeon has run into it. Again, I wish you the best with your surgery and recovery. Please keep us posted. for salty I like Salted Soy nuts...good Protein there. for sweeter snack I like FF/SF popsicles or gum usually tames it for me.

Vines....I'm thinking the way you've put it. Very well thought out and said I've always felt any medical helpers or cures are only there because God put that person here for a purpose. We're all here for a purpose....some will figure out why...others will live their lives without ever realizing what that purpose is. Every single person touches another person in one way or another for sure. The responses here have touched me.

My goodness where have I been? All these postings and I haven't posted a thing. Thank you all for keeping me in your thoughts and I apologize for not writing sooner. Funk...did someone say funk? Can I join the club and I'm not PMSing anymore. I'm just soooo tired of the stress level at work. There just HAS to be something more! I love the work I do but, there's just sooooo much of it and everything has to be done at once. There is never a dull moment or time to take a breather. Heck, I've worked through my lunches for 3 years now and what the heck is a break? Something has to give and unfortunately it's going to be my nerves I think. Bene thanks for posting those pics. Sounds like if they brought you around the office and introduced you they're really thinking you're the one. Thats a great sign. Hmmm I'll have to ask my pharmicist if they can be cut or crushed. I know some of them can't be because they are time released. Thanks for letting me know as I've heard we shouldn't take any pills bigger than a birth control pill size.

Hello Bandayed, Lalap and Flowergirl WELCOME! I'm glad you came back to the Massachusetts forum. Maybe we can all help each other out It quiets down a bit sometimes but, thats ok. Something will come up and please feel free to post it here as well. I'm not banded yet and I may have a bunch of questions once I am :confused: Here is one for ya....Have any of you had to change your medication because it won't pass the band? Such as a pill that you now take liquid form for? Just curious :confused:

OMG they ARE all the same hahaha. I thought it was just me and my life having to deal with the simplest things that could of been done that weren't. Nothing like seeing clothes on the floor in FRONT of the hamper. I even tried leaving the hamper open...nope didn't make it. I swear they must not see it! I love it when my DH or son say they've helped me clean when they might of vacuumed or washed the kitchen floor and that's it! They didn't see me take over an hour to clean two bathrooms alone. I even keep those Lysol wipes in the bathrooms for the "problem" usages. Nope they leave that for me too UGH. I'd go on strike but the only person it would bother would be me hahahaha. Oh well...life goes on and it could be worse! Yes Eileen I just don't understand why the docs wait sometimes. Like you said...you would of avoided gaining weight had the fill been done when you asked. Seems to me that if we stayed the same or only lost a pound in a month that they would ask us if we're cheating or eating too much and if you told him you feel no restriction and you're having a hard time monitoring the food that he WOULD give you at least a small fill. Grrrrrr all that hard work to lose it and then to have some come back HAS GOT to be frustrating. Good luck and I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get that fill!

I think most of us keep the WLS surgery secret because the last thing we need is someone watching everything we put in our mouths. It's going to be difficult enough never mind someone saying.."Are you suppose to eat that" every time you do eat. I think we beat ourselves up enough about our weight that we don't need help from someone else when and if we have a bad day or make a choice that's not the best.

Eileen, Did you say you're scheduled for a fill? Why is it that if you're losing but, losing slow the docs won't fill? It's almost as if some docs want us to stay the same or even gain weight before they will fill..how frustrating. Yea...I'm really worried about the insurance. I have a feeling I'm going to have to go to not having to pay anything to having to pay a whopping deductible and co-insurance and to boot I'll end up using my medical care bank all up and have to pay for med. services for the rest of the year. It's so frustrating...the unknown that is lol. I guess I'll just have to wait until they give us the news. I love how they make it like it's an added Benefit..YEA RIGHT! I'm smart enough to know business is business and if you own one you want to make a great profit but, it still stinks to be the little guy. I have to do laundry as well and I'm trying to clean up this tornado struck home of mine. Why is it I can't just wiggle my nose and have it all go in it's own place..heck I didn't make the mess! lol If my family would just put away the little things that would take them 30 secs to do it wouldn't take me a whole day to clean things up. Do they listen noooooooooooooo they'd rather hear me complain I guess. Hmmm can ya tell I'm pmsing? I can't stand myself today, isn't that bad? lol Oh well...back to cleaning! Talk some more later. I just went through all the testing etc and I just told people at work the doc needed some tests run. No one asked me why I was going so much. I think they knew if I wanted them to know I'd tell them. They are pretty good that way. I did tell my boss because I needed the time off and I needed to plan with her my week off. She's been extremely supportive. Like Eileen, I didn't tell most of my family or friends because I don't want them watching everything I put in my mouth and monitoring it. I can do that on my own. My husband, son and mom know only as far as family. My two best friends know and support me on it as well. One is even considering it herself. That's it...no one else know besides you folks hahaha And WHEN I loose weight...if someone asks me what diet I'm on or what I'm doing to lose it. I'm plan on telling them I've just cut back on my food and started exercising more.

Congrats Alex...that's just awesome. I can't even remember the last time I ice skated or roller skated and I love those things when i was a kid. We skated daily all year round...my dad even built a skating rink in the back yard and we skated until 10 at night. Congratulations on this great step!

Can you have an MRI with the port in place? The port has metal in it...its on the backside so the fill needle doesn't go all the way through...I believe. You should check with your surgeon to make sure an MRI is ok.

Insurance companies sometimes request the 6 months of prior diet attempts to prove you CAN'T do it with diet alone. I've had years of attempts and yes your doctors weight in records would help you. If you've gone often enough, like me I had to go every 6 months because of my bloodpressure, then you'd certainly have proof.

Eileen, Oh my goodness you're making me blush. Those pics were taken just after my divorce was final...that's why I looked so relaxed lol. I wish I still looked like that lol. Back then I was thinking how big I was...and of course since then I've added probably 40 pounds - OHHH THE AAAAAGOOOONEEEY. Dang I need this band I happen to think all of you are very pretty and I find myself praying I'll do as well as you all have done with your bands and dieting. God help me! Why does my head keep saying I'll probably fail when in my heart I want to succeed so badly? Maybe because I've failed so many times before it's hard to beleive this will work? Did I happen to mention....I walked in on a coversation between my boss and my account manager. A new insurance plan is on the way...oh you guessed it! It's going to take place before my surgery...God I hope this doesn't stop things! I'll hear more Monday or Tuesday and then I'll have to call my surgeon to make sure it will still be covered. Same insurance but a different plan...one where we're going to be allotted so much money and then a deductible which I didn't have before. UGH. I pray this will be covered.

Hello Everyone, It's been a busy morning but, I'm taking a breather for a bit . Hubby is feeling a bit better, good enough to work but, still not up to par:sick . I told him to stay home but, what can ya do:rolleyes: . Anyway....I was passing the underwear section at Walmart today and though...one day...ooooooooooone day this will fit gosh darnit! :help: Of ocourse that is if I can ever figure out how the heck to convert this body into a number found on underwear hahaha. Someone once told me shoe size but heck I suppose that only happens when you're on the "normal" weight chart. Anne - I'm with you....a cute pair sounds sooo nice. NO WAY NO HOW will that cute pair involve a string up the crack of my fanny. :omg: Dental floss for my buttocks is a no no hahaha. Pat - WOW...I can't even fathom keeping the wrong change from a cashier let alone taking money from an employer/friend. How terrible! I hope you never run into that again and I do hope you find the nice, trustable employee you're looking for. What is it that your company does? I haven't been here long enough to know. I did try Advantage AES (I think that's the right name) chocolate once with SF/FF banana pudding mix and once with about a teaspoon of Peanut Butter...both were very good Of course not being banded I could of drank TWO! I swear she has more toys than my son did when he was 7 months lol. I just brought her to the doggy salon today and she's soooo pretty. All fluffy, lavendar bow on her ear and bandana to match. They did an awesome job. They told me they would of painted her nails but, wanted to ask before doing it hhahaha. My husband would of had a fit hahaha. I bought the chocolate protein powder and I've mixed it with just about a teaspoon of peanut butter and it takes the aftertaste away. I've also mixed it with FF/SF instant banana pudding and that was really great. I made them both with skim milk and two icecubes. Next I'm going to try it with coconut extract.

Hey everyone..I'm here and not here lol. My hubby is sick so been taking care of him. Just did boring stuff today...drive, work, drive, home, cook, check email now time for bed. UGH. Was thinking this morning (get the fire extinquisher heh heh) that WHEN I get smaller.....How do you by underwear? I mean....I haven't been a number size underwear in a long time. Like....is it my shoe size like people say? I hardly think I'll ever be a size 8 in panties when I'm used to buying, hippy, extra hippy and Jagunda Holey Mamma break out the fitted sheet size and call em Gramma undies. Hi Sherri, I haven't been banded yet. My banding date is 2/13/06 and I'm having it done at Beth Israel Deconess Medical Center in Boston with Dr. Jones. I started the process December 4th and I'm already set to go.
