Hmmm guess I'm not the only one who hasn't been around lol I thought I wasn't getting updates but, it's just that there haven't been any in here lol. I've been going through a really rough time....that's why I've been away. I guess I'm just in quite a FUNK and can't get myself out  I'm sure I'll get there....just need some time. I've even fallen off my exercise kick. Dang nabbit...I guess falling on the ice - bruising my hip, knee and sending my neck out of wack again didn't help with that. Hopefully I can get back to it soon. I NEED SOME SUN and fresh air on my motorcycle...that's it Love yas

Well......I've been kind of wallowing and stressing but, I've been eating right. My husband was laid off of his job last Friday  NO clue how the budget will balance but, one day at a time right? I've exercised a few times still too...probably more to get the stress off than for losing weight. Today got home from work, I've been so stinking busy that I've barely had something to eat for supper. I grabbed a cold piece of chicken that was about 2 oz and that's that. Too last to eat now. It's freaking freezin up here too! Everything is icey and cold, cold. I miss you gals...but I think it's going to take me a bit to get my mind back in the right place. Man I hope this all works out!
  5. Man TOM is around and is totally killing my exercise. I feel so yucky and crampy! I'll get back to it though hopefully by the end of the week. I did do some walking at work today.....and took the stairs a few times to get some movement in

I'm not getting email notifications again. I just hate that. I hope everyone is doing well. We had about 4 inches of snow yesterday and it's still snowing. Hopefully it won't add up to much because we already had icey snow on the ground under it. I'm kinda liking not being able to go shovel hahaha. I have another 5 weeks to milk that one lol. Made my Taco Soup yesterday and invited our friends over for dinner then we all played on the Wii Fit. We were playing on that thing from 7 until 9:45pm and we had no clue that was the time! It was fun and every funnier to watch folks do the hola hoop and other exercises lol. The time really does tick away quickly when you're occupied and this Wii Fit does that. I swear its the first exercise I don't mind....that is once I'm down there. Monday starts the Biggest Loser contest at work so I'll be down there for sure every day doing at least 30 minutes and back to my Lindora program. I had to put that on hold because it's a low carb diet and when you're on liquids it's pretty hard to keep it low carb when all you can have "food" wise is carb loaded stuff like applesauce and cream of wheat. But I ordered some products to help me along this and I'll be doing the low carb thing Monday too  Time to poke around. I hope you're all doing well. Congrats on the new Grandbaby Kat and for not going to jail! Pat are ya home yet? Trish good luck with your fill! Betty what's up this weekend? Eileen - We're going to send the Monkeys! I miss ya!, Donna...all the Donnas lol Helloooooooo and get out those happy feet and move it move it move it. We can do it hee hee I'm missing folks I know I am...didn't do the advanced again so I can't see lol HELLOOO to you too

I was just looking at the pics thinking....OMG I need to get back down to 212 and then work on getting back to that 197 I saw. Then work on getting to my goal of 175 (right now anyway). I'll get there  one day at a time is the best we can do.

good luck Kat Pat did you get out today? I'm pooped....headache too...but had a good post op visit and I'm officially off liquids. he told me I could switch to whatever I want (probably because it was revision) but, to start slow with tuna, fish, softer stuff then try full Proteins. I can't get a fill for 2 months though he wants to make sure everything is healed up really well inside. We start the biggest loser contest at work Monday so this weekend is my first to have things I"ve been craving and my last lol. That's a GOOD thing! It will keep me out of trouble!!!
  12. I still have my headache but, vow tomorrow to do 30 minutes of exercise

Hi Music...I think my profile still has a before and after but it's really a before and IN PROCESS LOL. I just went to my post-op visit today for my revision surgery. I'm not off liquids YEAAAA lol. I see the comments going back and forth regarding BW and BIDMC truly both hospitals are great. I can only say from experience I really like BIDMC and I'd recommend it to anyone. The nutrionists there are awesome and truly you spend more time with them than the docs anyway. They really help and give alot of suggestions on how you can substitute things, better choices, work on stress etc. Kelly and June are great and both very very friendly. The staff also gets back to me pretty quickly when I ask a question too it's nice. They also have a Bari-buddy program if you want to join it. It's a list of fellow bariatric patients you can contact for a buddy or questions etc. I'm on the list....feel free to look me up  Good luck with the process friends...I wish you the best.
  14. I did my Wii 30 minutes yesterday as promised. Today I need to take the night off...my head is pounding from staring at a computer all day today and very tiny tiny spreadsheet and unfortunately I need to balance my checkbook and pay bills. AS IF the headache wasn't bad enough...trying to pay bills isn't going to help. So tomorrow Wednesday, if I don't have a headache (these tend to work into migraines  ) I'll do 30 minutes of exercise again tomorrow.
  15. When I first heard it I was like...Gee nothing like encouragement lol. Why doesn't it just say GET OFF ME YOU COW! hahaha Damn toy lol. It is fun and does keep you going through so I suppose I can just mute it when it comes to that part lol
  16. Doesn't it just crack you up when you step on the Wii board and it say OHHH and then you weigh yourself on it and it's "That's obese". Umm ya thanks there Wii board you're lucky I don't choke ya hahaha
  17. Ok I did my Wii aerobic exercises for 30 minutes and then 7 minutes with a bit of it being jogging on my dreadmill. Tomorrow...I'll commit ok promise I'll do at least 20-30 minutes of some exercise
  18. Wahoo I'm glad to take the blame for it I'm still holding you to tomorrow though hee hee. I need to get my butt downstairs today and do my 20-30 minutes of something and dang nabbit I'll do it  DID YOU KNOW...that while folding laundry or changing the loads you can gain steps by marching in place. Yes I look silly but since the guys don't go in the laundry room who gives a crapola hahahaha. Just a hint for you folks too  The more you move the more you lose :w00t:
  19. Yea Kat! You can do this!!!! I'm counting on you for Monday

Hey Kat, I did see the DaVinci SF syrups but, I was afraid the bottles were too big. I knew my friend had bought these small Eye drops size bottles of flavorings that I was trying to find. I finally found them at www.capellaflavordrops.com . They have a deal going that you buy 5 and get 2 free or buy 7 and get 3 free so I was able to get 10 flavors for the price of 7. Too boot I think their online ordering had a gliche or something because I wasn't charged shipping either and they told me they shipped already. Not a bad deal :tt2: I bought almond, coconut, cinnamon bun, toffee, orange creamsicle, hazelnut, and I can't remember the others just now lol. They come highly recommended by the folks that use Medifast products and use them to flavor their shakes. As a matter of fact they give Medifast folks 10% off from what I read. My friend was on that so thats how she found out about the products. **** I understand what you mean about exercising with DH there. My DH will come downstairs to the exercise room and start using the Wii while I'm on the treadmill...that means I can't watch TV I have to watch him on the Wii. I'm glad he's exercising but man oh man I dread the treadmill when I'm not preoccupied with tv or something you know? I HATE to exercise I really do! so that just makes it harder. Yesterday he was snoring on the couch so I snuck down there and worked out on the Wii by myself  Now that Wii really tracks your time in a piggybank timer lol it's cute and so you know what you've done exercise wise. It doesn't count the downtime between types of exercise only actual exercise so that's cool. I tell ya that hola hoop, boxing and advanced stair step gets your heart pumping! The elliptical is quite a workout too. I can't do too much more than 5 minutes after having walked on the treadmill already. What a thigh burner that elliptical is and if you pull on the levers with your arms, you get a workout there too. So come on over to the exercise thread, vow to do some sort of exercise for 20-30 minutes and away you go  I have to say.....Trish got me started right away. She posted she was going to use the treadmill for 20-30 and the wii and I promised to match her :woot: It worked! if I make a promise I stick to it Good luck with your start of exercising. We can all help each other! Betty - Are you feeling better? Did you get all those Cookies out of the house? OMG I'd have so much trouble with them around. I'm having a hard enough time sticking to liquids...it's been so freaking hard. I'm not losing either because the carb count I think is too high on some of my options but, Protein shakes are getting way too boring so SF pudding, Cream of wheat and blended Soups have been the option. Not exactly carb friendly. I'm really really really looking forward to solids again. Diane - Have you made it over to the exercise thread yet? We're looking for ya You can do it girl...come on over! Break out that Wii fit and let me know how you make out with the hola hoop lol. I was down stairs cracking up all by myself while doing it. It's amazing how much your calves feel it! The advanced mode makes you move your hips in different directions too talk about hard lol. I'm not so co-ordinated lol. Same thing with the advanced stair step..they start twisting and stepping on the board on the side instead of straight on OMG lol. ***if you can't get solids down you might want to try a slight unfill so you can. I know this time around I'm not going to be so quick to get a fill everytime I think I can eat too much. Pretty scarey having to go through this again. Good luck! Pat - Break out your Wii too Pat and come join us. I think you'd get a kick out of it It's been freaking freezin here in Massachusetts but, I have to say doing that Wii warms ya up lol. It's fun when you've exercised enough that it unlocks different additional exercises you can do. Yesterday it unlocked boxing for me....holy smokes...you have to throw those punches hard...good thing the Wiimote is strapped to my hand or I'd be breaking the new TV lol Must be nice to be back home after long trips huh? I know I always look forward to getting to my own bed after being away especially hotel beds. Man those things kill my back and hips...I'm spoiled with my dial-a-number bed Trish - Thank you for getting me started on the exercise. I hope things have settled a bit for you at home too. Stress does terrible things to our bodies...I know that all too well it's partially to blame for my slipped band. It's amazing how much our insides tighten up during stressful times. Eileen - I miss you girl...come out an play! We're here for ya. Darcy - Same with you my friend...come on out and play. How are the candles coming along? How many molds do you have? I have questions for you hahaha. DH and I have made candles a few times but, we used the paraffin wax. I haven't gotten into the soy stuff yet although it's better for ya. I like the kind you can use to make your skin soft too...you melt the candle a bit and use the soywax for your hands. Great stuff! So where is everyone else....they haven't found the new thread yet? Well......time to take down the darn Christmas Tree...Gosh I hate that job! I wasn't even going to put one up this year but, DS wanted one even though he didn't help me decorate it UGH. I told DH I think I'm in the Ceramic tree phase lol. If I could take the whole tree and put it away done, I would so I could just take it back out next year hahaha. Hey a gal can dream right? Hugs!

Hello Singing, I have to say BOTH my stays at BIDMC were great. The first surgery 2/13/06 to place the band I stayed at the West Campus. That was prior to them having a dedicated Bariatric floor that, I'm understanding BIDMC DOES have now. Then I just recently have revision surgery and stayed at the East Campus hospital and although it's not a dedicated Bariatric wing it was fantastic. The beds were really comfortable and no patients kept me up really. Just the usual coming to take my vitals woke me up. They kept me really comfortable and all the nurses were really friendly and helpful. My calls to the nurses station never went unanswered. The staff at the Bariatric center for my regular visits have also been great and I can't say enough about the nutrionists I've met with. Both Kelly and June are great and very supportive and really listen. I can't say enough about them. It's definitely worth checking out both hospitals and go with the one you're most comfortable with. Good luck with your journey :tt2: Sherry
  22. Welcome to the exercise thread Diane. Trish and I have been doing vows because it seems to keep us in check. I PROMISE to exercise at least 20-30 minutes tomorrow means I'll do it because I never break a promise. So here it is ladies..... I PROMISE TO EXERCISE 20-30 MIN TOMORROW :tt2:

Hey there Diane, yeap I started an exercise thread. Here is the link: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f51/nj-looking-fine-2009-exercise-thread-84403/ Trish and I have posted in there already  The Wii fit has proven to be fun and a nice change from the treadmill. I did about 45 minutes of jogging, stair step, boxing, hola hoop and long jump on it today  Didn't really feel like doing the treadmill today.
  24. OK I didn't do the treadmill but I did use my Wii fit for 45 minutes. Did hola hoop, jogging, boxing, aerobic step at least for 30 of those minutes and the long jump. Wowza I was hot and breathing fast lol. Tomorrow I vow to do at least 20-30 minutes of something...Wii or Treadmill/elliptical

I'll post it here and in the BIDMC thread. I just had revision surgery myself so I need to heal up and then I can start figuring out dates we can try to get together. I'd really love it if we could do a monthly or by-monthly meeting. Right now I'm looking at either the 24th or 31st of this month I think. Might have to do a snow-date kind of thing....knowing New England lol
