Last night I was out to dinner and had a starter - slice of toast, rocket crab and avo. Had had protein bar earlier to keep protein level up. Haven't lost any hair and skin is really not too bad - although still unlovely!

Skin is a little, well like those char pei dogs or whatever they're called but I look good clothed and it's motivation for exercise. I sort of miss my tits n ass but every now n then I look in the mirror and think.. ohhh I'm slim. I'M SLIM!!!! And I feel healthy. It's fab. Am eating more and beginning to learn my new tastes. Have gone off the fatty bits on pork chops! Who'd have thunk it!!!

    Where are you now?

I am 104lbs down from highest weight. Which was 230ish. (16 stone 10lbs down to 9 stone 3lbs) goal is about 5lbs away and my op was December 17th 2016. Very pleased with progress - do have some skin but waiting to see if I want it fixed - though I miss having a bum and tits! Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app
  7. Hw- 229 Surgery- 220 Current weight 148 Clothes have gone from a uk 20 to a uk 10/12 And the hard work? That's the stuff I've done in therapy. Food was a self destruct button: the work is in fixing what made me push it and of course, in not seeking other even more dangerous buttons. I love new me and I've forgiven and love old me - but she ain't coming back!

90lbs down from pre surgery weight. Generally fit and happy and bin is now 24.8. Still want to lose another 10-15lbs, but not fretting about it. Food is ok: sometimes portions are difficult when eating out and I constantly worry I'll eat too much. Worst I've had from overeating is bloating/gas - but that's not been terrible. Exercise is my next mountain. Moved so stopped swimming at work and need to push myself...

    Just received my bill.

I was with Spire Wellesley. No issues so far. Be interested to know what dietary advice you've been given. My doc, mr Mannur, has allowed me things like nuts and cheese and crackers from week three but portions seem much smaller than people from the USA mention. I'm on soft food now and haven't been given guidance as to amounts. I've neither been full nor hungry yet though!! Just received my bill.

Am in the U.K. I self financed and it cost me £9,000. Agreed a lot of money - I'll be paying it for five years, but makes one thankful our system remains as it is. Except of course our government is killing the NHS so we'll be where you are before too long. Makes me shudder! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  16. I've been told to eat two to three tablespoons of food each meal and just began puréed food today. My problem is, I've just realised my tablespoon is a 30ml measure not 15 so I've eaten 80-90 ml of food rather than 45 both main meals today. I ate slowly to my dietician's 20:20:20:20 rule - bite size of 20p piece, 20 seconds chewing, 20 seconds resting and 20 mins minimum for the whole meal. And the portion lasted 20 mins. I don't feel full - or hungry so I'm worrying a) my pouch is stretched already or it will be - but it seems such a small amount of food I can't imagine halving it! Anyone got any ideas or advice? I'll scoot the portions down tomorrow - and find a proper measure but I'm fretting meantime Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  17. Thanks - I had the bypass and am told tummy is size of egg cup - my portion is definitely bigger than that! I've looked on line though and seen a huge variety in what different surgeons allow so I'll try not to fret. Had 600 calories today which feels like loads! (Though not sure whether I calculated my 60ml of minced chili correctly! Definitely harder to get Proteins in now am eating puréed!! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  18. My portion fits into a freezer thing I got that holds portions for six month old babies - well the meat and veg puréed together. The compartments are 60ml each so I figure must be close to ok. How many MLS in half a cup? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Clear Liquid Phase

My meal plan allowed Protein drinks and thin Soups from day one. I was given Soup and jelly on day two under doctor's instructions. I think that doctors differ in their instructions... Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    December 19th date.

Hi joules... could rename yourself 'killer joules' when you are done losin'!!! I'm good. Lying awake now waiting for valerian tea to cool. Only issues now are my very own storm Barbara blowing the winds in every direction, and sleeping on back. Have decided to see it as an opportunity to retrain self to back sleeping but it is weird hard. It makes me cross not being able to flip to my tummy but also aware how badly this and side sleeping kill my back. Doc has said at least one more week till tummy so am challenging myself to be a back sleeper by then!!!! Wounds are fine, weight is dropping and I'm eating tasty broths cooked by partner as well as Protein drinks, peppermint cordial (for Barbara!) and bovril. Not struggling with volume which worries me but then am not having more than a small cup at a time. So all good. Nice to hear from someone in similar place... xxx Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Day three at a loss...

Thanks for this. Managed to sleep half on my side and even though it was very busy broken sleep, I feel better for it. Also, being reminded it was major surgery helped: I've only previously had small day surgeries for tooth extraction and a gynae laparoscopy previously so needed to hear that. Significantly better this morning - just need to find time fillers now Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
