  1. Not many people know what EoE is. My son has it and he is 15 and I had the gastro sleeve surgery this past November. If you want to message me, tell me your food restrictions. I do think you can meet your weight goal. But I may not know exactly what you are going through. But I do have plenty of knowledge of EoE and having the surgery. I hope you message me. Good luck.

  2. I took 2 weeks off but that 3rd week at work was hard. Everyone is different and also depends on what you do. I sit behind a desk. But if you work in a job that requires hard labor or lifting heavy things, you are going to need a much longer healing time. Good Luck... ????

  4. Hello Pal Fam - i am excited on this Monday morning. Even though my children don't want to get out of bed for school, I didn't either it is a whopping -6° degrees out here in Chicago with who knows what the wind chill is. But I hit a milestone and I want to shout it out but nobody would understand but here. I lost 100lbs, starting in April at 444lbs scared the crap out of me and didn't think I could ever get away from 400lbs. Most I ever lost in my life was 9.6lbs and that is cuz what my son weighed when he was born. I have so much more to do but that person I dream about in my sleep (me being thin) doesn't seem that far of a fetch anymore. Happy Monday all, hoping you are in a warmer place than me.

  6. I never had a pet before, it is normal to be so upset over a dog??

    hw - 444 ~ surgery date 11/23 ~ sw - 363 ~ cw 351

Well, if it's not normal then I'm crazy as a loon because every dog I've lost has left a hole in my heart and hurt like I lost my best friend. Bernie, Samson, Luke, and Mesa....my fur babies I've lost, ever loyal in my best and worst times. I am so sorry for your loss, but also so glad for you that you took a painful thing, recognized it for what it was and haven't just headed straight for food. As surely so many on this forum do, I totally understand your desire to turn to something to eat for comfort.

Hang in there, cry it out if you need to, exercise it out, do something kind for yourself, or ask someone else to do something kind for you. Just remember to keep food in the category where it belongs, just fuel for the body, and work through what you're feeling in a healthier way. Like the saying goes, that which doesn't kill us, can only make us stronger.

They are our fur babies, so yes

So sorry Hun, and I understand everything your saying and feel your pain. I had to put my Yorkie to sleep earlier this year. I'm 2 mo out of surgery and I realize how much I use to use food to bury my emotions. I finally got a new baby, Chinese crested puffball, and she's keeping me company in this new journey. Good luck to you and many ???????? thoughts. I drive a truck all over the US and I have very little emotional support except for this little furball!!

My gosh, I am sorry. Are you talking about the semi? Cuz i work with D.O.T, plating, safety and it is so expensive. Not sure how anyone these days xmcan own their own rigs and make it. Government makes it so hard with all the rules and regulations they put out there. But I am sorry.

  7. Hi all, I am 16 days post-op. Doing okay, struggling with liquids and the mushy food, I am only going potty 1 or 2 times a day. And this bubble in my throat, any ideas to help that. I think that is my only complaint, I guess that isn't that bad at this point. But what mushy foods are you all eating that is good? But I am 6lbs from losing 100lbs, and that was mostly pre-op weight lose. Till more to go, glad to see all the pics everyone post. Really gives me some faith that I made the right decision. post-302804-14813344404588_thumb.jpg I am looking better. Wish all well wishes. But any help with that bubble in the throat would be greatful and mushy foods that are good.

  8. Venting to all that would understand me, I want to indulge in food (something good, not puree potatoes) and I can't. I had to put my first dog/down first pet ever down today, I loved him more days than I was mad at him. My bacon buddy, always gave him half a piece of what I was eating so I wouldn't eat the whole thing. Lightning is his name, 9 year old deaf great Dane. Putting him down was hard, never did that before. It was peaceful but tonight the house seems different. So many emotions and all I want to do is eat to comfort me. I know I can't. But to all that may understand what i am feeling and to all who read this to hear me vent. Thank u. post-302804-14811612209931_thumb.jpg

  9. Plz don't think I am judging cuz I am not by any means. How far out from surgery are you guys? I just had the gastro sleeve last Wednesday. So I am curious as to how far out you all are and what happens, the full feeling just stops? I am sorry you r struggling, hell if I wasn't afraid to eat something now I think I would. Feel like i am starving and I hate all around me that eat. My husband last night, he works part time at Dominos pizza just for xtra cash and he brings home a pizza and one of their brownie pies. I wanted to shank him, but then I have to come back down and realize I did this for me and he didn't. But hearing you all stories wondering what in 1 year or 2 I am going to be jamming my mouth with that pizza he brought home. I sure hope not. This addiction to good is something. My only advice is look at pics of yourself before you did the surgery and maybe that will remind you why you did this and why you feel so good now compared to then. Good luck, and don't beat yourself up for it. You r only human.

  10. Had surgery yesterday, went well. The pain i really wasn't prepared for, that pressure but after awhile it did go away and this morning well 3 in the morning,i can't sleep and have no pain. They don't give you narcotics here they feel that slows down healing. So I have been getting just Tylenol. Today should be swallow check and then go home. Thank u for the prayers and kind words to help me out. How did u all feel in the days after, like day 3, 4, 5?? Curious and planning my week, I have to come for follow up next Thursday wondering if i be able to drive myself or find someone to drive me.

  11. @@mamalisa268 You've had other surgeries, so the pre-op stuff won't be any surprise to you...the standard IV, etc.

I woke up in the PACU with horrible sub-sternal pain, which the staff very quickly dealt with and I woke up an hour later being transported to my room on the surgery inpatient floor. I was on a morphine PCA pump (you push the button for a dose of pain med) and was getting anti-emetics for nausea through my IV as well. I dozed off and on for another hour or so, then got up to the bathroom (no catheter!) and went for a walk around the ward. I did this on and off for the rest of the day, took a shower and had some Isopure and Water. Didn't sleep much overnight, but felt much better the next day. I would have been discharged that day but my potassium level wouldn't stay up so I was getting it by IV and kept blowing my IV sites, so was getting a bit dehydrated too. They kept me until around noon the next day, I was up walking every hour for at least 20 mins, was able to keep liquids in my stomach and felt pretty good.

All in all, it was really easy and relatively pain-free. The walking helps a LOT with the gas pains from the surgery, do as much as you can! Good luck and be sure to check back in when you're feeling up to it!

Thank u for your time and replying to me. Your info is greatly informative. Will keep updates.
