  1. I get my first fill tomorrow:) when I had the opp they put 2mm in and the first 4 weeks where fine but now I feel like I'm eating to much. Spoke to dietary nurse yesterday and she said once I've had a few fill in will start feeling full after only a few mouth fulls. Looking forward to the results however I have lost 1 and half stone in the past 5 weeks

  2. Hi there. I'm only 5 weeks into my band. Ive lost 16 pounds so far and my back has been killing. I have in the past had back problems and when I asked my doctor about it he said it's due to the loss in weight. My back has in lined itself to come inside with my loss. Try to keep exercising as it will get better .

  3. So I had my sleeve surgery 9/15. All things considered, all good. No eating slip ups, am down 40lbs. I can get all my liquid in but struggle with Protein and calories.

So come to find out 2 days ago I have to go into urgent surgery - I've had a lot of blood loss and just barely hung in without having to get a transfusion.

I'm exhausted, back to only being able to take meds with applesauce, and not sure what to eat to get my strength back. Obviously I wasn't fully healed before the 2nd surgery.

My surgeon knows about everything but hasn't helped much. Any suggestions on what to eat to get some strength back? I'm on stage 4, so no restrictions to worry about. I do think the 2nd surgery caused swelling again in my tummy area. Getting a boiled egg down this am was hard.

Any help/advice much appreciated. I'm very nauseous from yesterday's anesthesia. TIA

Hi there. If you go and see your gp there is some shakes that are full of everything you need to make you feel better. Even if you add things to it like nuts berries to bulk up but should fill you up with the right stuff

  4. Hi there. I had my gastic band fitted last Tuesday. I like yourself have been on a diet all my life . Something had to give and this was something I had been thinking about for a long time. Feel ok at the moment. I'm still on fluids only until next Tuesday. You need to look at this as a tool for you to lose weight. Thinking positive about the lovely clothes you will be able to buy. Take photos of yourself before and after. Show people how well your doing .

Phoned nurse and was put at ease when she told me about the port and how it's inbedded into our muscles sometime if you have been moving a bit more it can mover a bit which I belive is the pain. I went back to work after 5 days a ok I never carried anything I was moving more. Weekend off and I rested and now the pain has gone. Good luck with it

@@mouna Call your Dr now and make sure it's not anything serious. Good luck.
Hi Kristen. The pain your in is probably gas moving around. It's horrible I know. Hot showers . Hot Water bottles help and taking paracetamol every 4 hours is a must for me. I'm actually 9 days post can wait to go onto mushy food in 5 days . They do the 2 weeks fluids to give your body time to heal after the opp hope this helps good luck

  7. So how would you describe the difference between the gas pains you get the first week after being banded and being stuck? What was it like the first time your food got stuck? What were you eating? What should you have been eating/doing instead?

    Banded 9/6/16

Gas feelings in first week usually start in your shoulders down your arms and not so much in your tummy. Being stuck is like that over full feeling in the bottom of your throat like you have had too much. The gas will be now after a week getting a bit better. Warm shower helped me also hot Water bottle
