    recovery

I only took a week. But I work in an office and sit all day. I worked a couple of half-days but this was also around Christmas holiday and everyone was taking off.

    Coffee

I have one cup, but instead of it being completely empty calories I add GENEPRO Protein powder AND a spoonful of Fiber.
  6. Happy 3 month sleeve-a-versary! Rock on with your bad self, @LittleBill And by 'bad' I mean 'good'.
  7. ME TOO! I had to bring a blanket to wrap around my legs at my office. I'm freezing all the time!

    Almost 4 weeks post op

Hmmm, I got the same packet of information in my 'going home from hospital goodie bag'. I might have to give this a try. I am currently using Multivitamin Patches but I forget to put the darn things on every morning!

    Nauseous after any activity

Agree with JamieLogical, call your doctor. Nausea meds are wonderful things, but you may need something else.

Hmmm....anyone else hear bad reviews of PB2 like this? http://foodbabe.com/2012/09/16/the-truth-about-pb2-powdered-peanut-butter/ kinda scared me off of PB2

    December 13th

I'm on an antibiotic that's tearing my gut up so I'm at a stall. My stomach is NOT liking the antibiotics (it's a liquid).
  12. I truly doubt it would--I know you can't enlist in the military after bariatric surgery but that's a completely different kind of service.
  13. I had NO idea they could suck the CO2 out of you after the surgery! Dang it, that would have been nice. Nothing like waking up feeling like the Goodyear blimp...with several holes cut in it.

@elisa5150 We must be the Little Bill Fan Club! I love his posts too. I think he should be the official BP Forum Dad.

    Olly powder at target

hmmmm...I haven't tried them. I was told I could have any powdered supplement as long as whey Protein isolate was the main ingredient.
  16. @OKCPirate I'm an SEC (and Sooners) fan more than a Tide fan, per se..but I think Clemson is looking for revenge from last year. Alabama fans are REALLY smug...I'm surrounded by them! They're INSANE.

    Looking for support

You're right, sometimes just typing it out helps. Just putting it out there how you really feel...it's hard but you did it. So sorry for your loss. Hang in there.

    Secret Surgery

I am very public with my decision--I thought I might motivate someone else to take charge of their health. And I'd say I've had 90% positive interactions. The remaining 10% is because people can't keep their mouths shut and assume since I'm going to restaurants I'm CHEATING on my diet. Nope, steakhouses offer Soup, people. Aside for the B*tches who are perpetually trippin, I don't regret being open about it.

    Does anyone regret surgery

I looked a bit pallid after surgery, but now I am feeling and looking better. I know exactly the 'death warmed over' look you're afraid of, I know someone who got sleeved and had that look. But I also know that person had a lot of problems with Protein and nutrition. The protein and Water goals are SOOOO important. I'm only 27 days post-op, but I feel good 90% of the time. 10% is me over-doing it or eating too soon after drinking. I have absolutely no regrets from having this surgery--even when everyone was having steak at Christmas and I had Soup. I enjoyed and savored every flavor.
  20. I was sleeved December 13th. I get tired fairly easily too, honestly. But it's not an overall awful feeling though. Light cardio helps me keep my energy up...and Water with Syntrax Protein powders (Crystal Sky flavor) in it helps with getting my protein in. And I put unflavored protein in everything. And Fiber. Oh yes, my fiber...I love it so.
  21. BOOMER SOONER! I like your priorities--not missing a Sooner game in recovery. I was born in OK and I still have family there--who also don't miss Sooner games.
  22. Through a weird series of events I was given a pleasant surprise midway through my pre-op plan. I found that I could self fund through the local center of excellence for less than what I'd have paid using my insurance. It may have been a bit more than Mexico.....but I was able to sleep in my own bed the night after surgery and all my follow up appointments have been a 5 minute drive. I can reach out to them with ease if ever the need should arise. Ask around about self funding options. You may be amazed at the rates. By doing so, I actually saved money and all the red tape was dropped. I was literally sleeved 3 weeks later. Agreed, that's exactly what I did. I was pleasantly surprised and no crazy travel. And I had excellent care. My follow-ups are local with the surgeon who did my procedure. I like that security and peace of mind.
