  1. Thanks for sharing..I made this a couple of days ago and I love it!!! I used 6 eggs instead of the beaters and used bacon instead of ham and added a ton of veggies (steamed broccoli, mushrooms, peppers, onions) and I can't get enough of it...I've already had 6 meals from it and still have half left!! Thanks again!!

  2. Honestly...I didn't have a passport, or even apply for one. Legally speaking, they can't keep a US citizen out of the US. You may get a finger wagging, but they will let you in. When we got to the border, our driver knew the border patrol guy. My husband and I had our birth certificates, driver's licenses, SS cards, marraige license...everything!! Our driver handed him our birthcertficates and driver's licenses. He didn't even look at our birth certificates and just scanned our driver's licenses to make sure they were real and that we weren't wanted for any crimes..he didn't ask us any questions or really even look at us. He too had been sleeved ( both our driver and the border patrol) and they were conversing and laughing in Spanish the entire time he spent looking at our driver's licenses. They were laughing about how they were both getting too skinny and they needed to start eating chocolate icecream in between meals!! So, I would say don't worry about it....sure, our hearts were beating a little fast as we pulled up to the border patrol guy's booth...so, I am sure that your receipt of application for your passport and driver's license will be fine!! I've not ever heard of someone having a hard time getting back into the US. Good luck to you and besh wishes w/you upcoming surgery!!!

  3. I agree w/others..your band needs to go!! My US surgeon (who placed my bands) said that he hasn't met anyone yet, that has lost their weight w/a band, had the band removed, and been able to maintain their weight loss. So, most likely, regain will follow a band removal. I love my sleeve and feel SO much better without that band inside of me. I would revise to a sleeve, if I were you. That way you only have one surgery instead of band removal, gaining weight back, and then sleeve surgery. I know someone (Wasabubblebut) that was at goal when she revised from a band to sleeve....she maintained a healthy weight :)

Best wishes to you....but, you need to get that band out before long term damage is done.

  4. I am almost 4 months out and am loosing tons of hair. Thankfully, I started out w/thick hair and my hairdresser says I now have a normal person's head of hair, she also noticed a lot of new growth :) I do have a question though- How long does the Hair loss stage last for most people?? Mine started about 3 wks ago and seems to be a little less each day. My hair is really long now and my hair lady suggested cutting about 6 inches off to let the new hair catch up. I have had some mild freak out moments about how much hair I see in the shower...but, going from a size 22 to a 12 is WORTH it!!

    Best wishes to everyone!

  5. As a revisionist, Dr Aceves said that I had so much scar tissue from my band that he added 5 days to each food stage. So, I had an additional 5 days (so 15 days I think??) on each phase. I know of another gal that was revised just after me and it was the same for her.. So, I think he just started doing this.

I guess each doc is different. I was so terrified of injuring my staple line that (even though it was tough) I was 100% compliant.

    Best wishes to you!!!

  6. Dr Aceves did my revision from band to sleeve 9wks ago...I am an RN in a hospital here in the US..There are minor things I would change about how things were done. But, overall, it was the BEST decision I've made and couldn't be happier!!! I didn't have much pain..thought the Lapband hurt 100x more..at least, that's my experience. I felt great and was up walking within a couple of hours of waking up. I used to be a labor and delivery nurse and I would always tell my patients that the best mamas are the ones that take care of themselves!!

Best wishes to you and thank you for sharing w/us!! Please keep us updated....most of us have been there!!!

  7. I am exactly 2 months postop today from my band to sleeve revision. I am down 42 lbs and am at my lowest weight in years...lower than I ever got w/that band :) I feel great and can't wait for another 2 months to pass!!! For anyone considering revising from that band, I can't say loud enough.. THE SLEEVE IS SO MUCH BETTER!!!

  8. Thanks everyone....Renee, I too am a Dr Aceves patient and am only allowed the 2 oz, I know I couldn't even do 1 oz of yogurt yet..

I am okay w/this, it's just different than my band and was unexpected. With my band, I had no issues w/yogurt or even cottage cheese

at this point. I can now see why people lose so quickly..I am now down 22lbs in 16 days. I am still so tremendously happy to have that

band out of me, I think I can handle almost anything.

I just need to get some more Protein shakes..I have been living off the Premeire Protein RTD from costco and Special K Protein H20.

    I appreciate all of you!!!
