Thanks Allie..I am w/ya!!!

I too was banded on April 1st. I am doing okay..I am not hungry at all and am actually having to force down the protein drinks and yogurt...my tummy is still quite sore, it definitely takes effort to get off the couch or out of bed. It's mostly just my port site that hurts...even more than pain though...they are red and itchy...really itchy!!!! I am glad you ladies are doing well...8 lbs down since surgery..I can hardly believe it!!!

I too was banded on 4/1....I am struggling...not w/regret really, just I am quite uncomfortable (port site) and so itchy!!!! And watching my family eat is tough...I have to be on liquids for 4 weeks... I apologize for whining...I knew what to expect, it's just a little harder than I thought it would be... How many of us are there on April 1st??? We are getting so close.... I am not having to do any preop diet...I guess my weight was "on the line" for my insurance??? I am not completely sure..........I just have to have a "light dinner" the night before and nothing by mouth after midnight... I AM READY!!!!! Thank you tskelli and others...my surgery is for next Tuesday..April 1st.. I am nervous but yet confident that I will come out the other end of this stronger and healthier!!!! Your words were exactly what I needed today

HI Brandy..I remember you from another post...I too am in Oregon... I got the call on Monday and my surgery date is April 1st...yes..in 6 days!! I am an RN and often work in the OR....I confess that I wish I hadn't seen so many surgeries myself So you are waiting to submit to insurance??? Did you have to do the 6 month supervised diet????

April 1st is a good day...ya know, Dec 29th is a good day too..That's my bday...I noticed the first time I saw your name that we are going to be banded by the same Dr and that you were banded on my birthday... I am coming down on Monday for all my preop stuff and staying in a hotel that night and then I will stay overnight in the hospital..Dr T wants to watch me a little closer because I have had a DVT before....so then I can have my swallow test that next morning and then go home.. I have my psych eval on Sunday afternoon..I met the lady who is doing it already...she is overweight herself and a huge supporter of the band... I am grateful after reading about other people's experiences... This is getting long...I might PM you later if that's okay... Trying not to be too nervous!! Erika

I also can't wait to buy sexy lingerie...not xxl cotton briefs (granted they are from Gap) but something that can't be mistaken for one of my toddler's shirts when sitting on the bathroom floor :wub: I can't wait to not feel dread while walking through the mall and seeing my reflection on the all store windows....

I live in Sheridan (close to McMinnville)....it's a 4 hour drive, but I think it will be worth it...I had my consultation March 12th, they are just verifying my insurance (BCBS Fed) and then setting a date...I am really hoping for April, but I guess we will see...I also have been trying to schedule my psych eval.. They have a lady they use in McMinnville...but, we have just been playing phone tag so far...Denise, what was your psych eval like??? I am kinda nervous... G'night....hopefully I will get some answers tomorrow!!!

My husband is very sexually "sensitive"....when he came back from Iraq (4 years ago) I was my thinnest (180 lbs..I am 5'8") and looking pretty good. He was not interested!!! He just drank to deal w/his stress...so here we are a few years later and I ate to deal with the rejection (now I am 260lbs)... Every night when he would roll over I would go crying into the kitchen and EAT.. Our sex life was better for a few years, but now that I am up to 260, his interest has once again declined...he also swears it has nothing to do w/my weight and that he is attracted to me...but I do wonder. Whatever the issue, it hurts my feelings tremendously... I definetly feel that this is the biggest issue I need to overcome my battle w/food...I need to not take his sexual issues personally and know it's not me. He doesn't drink anymore, but his drive is definitely less than your avg. 33yo man. I am really venting here....I guess I am a little bitter...he was my first and I waited until I was 24, I was number 12 or so on his list... Okay enough.... Thanks for letting me vent!!!

I hear post op, you can only pick up something as heavy as a gallon of milk.. How long do you have that restriction??? Just curious...thanks..

You hit the nail on the head....you are SO right...how easily we forget that our old way of eating IS NOT NORMAL!!! Size 8!!! AWESOME!!!

I have my consult this week, but I am quite sure I will be approved and be banded within a month... All of the honesty is really helping to prep myself for the first week postop. I too have a young child (20 months) that I won't be able to pickup...but she can sit next to me and snuggle on the couch?? right?? I am trying to plan for my husband to take a week off to help...and I am taking off two weeks from work (I am a L&D nurse). As nervous as I feel anticipating the surgery, I am also overwhelmed w/excitment!! I can't wait to not be the "fat girl" I can't wait to feel sexy again!! I too have been wondering...should I try Weight Watchers one more time?? As my hubbie points out..I have already joined 10+ times..I am ready for a change...am permanent change...I know it will be tough at times, but I am worth it, my family is worth it....each of you are worth it!!! Sorry this got long...I just appreciate each of you and your willingness to be honest!!!!

Hello...I have been lingering on these boards for awhile now, but this is my first post!! I am scheduled to have my first consult w/Dr Tersigni in Coos Bay on March 12th...I have been reading these boards, so I feel educated as of what to expect BUT I am wanting to ask if anyone out there has ANY regrets of getting this done??? I feel like this is finally my answer after years of unsuccessful dieting and feeling like a failure...Also I am just praying that insurance will cover this.. I have Fed BCBS..Dr Tersigni's nurse said that they are one of the easiest to get covered by. Also, my BMI is 39..I know my chances for getting approved are so much higher if it's 40..so yes, I am trying to gain a few (never done that before!!) This is getting long...I just wanted to introduce myself and maybe make some friends on this journey...

Thank you everyone...One more week until my consult...I think my BMI is close to 40 now...and I found out I have some shoes that weigh almost 4lbs!! So I think I will make BMI and be approved...I hope so!!! Shannon-I am so glad to hear from you!!! Your weight loss is awesome!!! I would love to hear more of your story...PM me anytime!!! There is also "athinnerdenise" on here that was banded by Dr. Tersigni...do you live close to Coos Bay?? I don't...4 hour drive, but I hear such great things about him,I think it's worth it!!!
