  1. I had a scare. My potassium levels were low due to my having to take a diuretic for swelling from lymphedema, and m doctor wanted to cancel my December 20th surgery.. I had to go off the diuretic starting Saturday, and I got retested yesterday. I put as much potassium-rich foods in my system, and I was lucky to have my numbers back up. I pray nothing gets in the way now.

Definitely stop taking the diuretic, and continue eating the foods high in potassium. Mine was low for the same reason, and the morning of my surgery they delayed me and gave me two potassium drips to get it up to surgery levels in order to continue. My discharge instructions they took me off the diuretic. Keep following their orders.

  2. I had my sleeve on the 12th also, and came home yesterday. I slept most of the night, but have been up and walking the house today. I did take a good nap this afternoon, and have been sipping hot tea as my liquid to help with the gas, and sucking on my gas x strips. I have minimal pain so I took Tylenol vs the oxycodone they prescribed. I am praying it gets better for you both.

  3. I am two days post op and doing okay so far. Incision pain is manageable with Tylenol, and not much gas as I have been sipping warm tea. My surgery was delayed because my potassium levels were low. I received two potassium drips, which hurt like hell, and then they retested and decided to move along. No rest in the hospital as they wake you every two hours to walk the floor. It was definitely beneficial in moving that gas and relieving some of the pain. Now onto my mushy/soft diet!

  4. First morning home, and feeling good. I ate most of a scrambled egg with cheese, and had a cup of peppermint tea. Everything stayed down so first hurdle down. My team starts us off on stage 2 mushy and soft diet, so had to have some mushy Protein and at least 8oz of liquid and keep it down in order to be sent home.

Oh sunsetsue so sorry you are in pain. If you are still in the hospital, ask the nurse for pain medication. Ask for GasX also, as the pain may be gas related. Don't sit in pain.

I came home yesterday, and they gave me oxycodone to take home. I did not much meds so I am just doing Tylenol.

  6. Hi everyone... I'm still alive, lol. I had my sleeve done yesterday. It was a rough day 1 with the gas pain and nausea. However , today I feell a lot better.... still have some gas pain but I'm burping a lot now. . I am telling myself this is temporary and in 6 months I'm sure I will say this was a great decision.

    Glad your surgery went well.
