    Post Op Sleep Study

Not sure why. I had my original sleep study back in '04.
  3. I have lost about 100 pounds and my shoe size went down one. It is too funny.

    Digestive system

Found this in a Google search: http://www.laparoscopic.md/sleeve/what-digestive-changes-occur-after-gastric-sleeve-surgery
  7. Never thought about tracking to make sure I am eating enough. What do you use? MFP?
  8. Maybe we should add: Band- Someone who has a Lap Band Sleeve- Someone who has had a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (The Sleeve) Pouch- Someone who has had a Roux-En-Y (Gastric Bypass)
  9. I started walking right after my surgery with a goal of 8,000 steps a day. Just over 6 months later and I average 20,000 steps a day and lost almost 100 pounds since the surgery. No other exercises.

    Tanita scales

I have a weight watchers scale that does the same thing. Measures weight, BMI, muscle mass, water weight, etc. Bought it at Target on clearance for under $20.00. Oh and it is blue tooth so it sends everything to my phone.
  11. You may want to talk to your surgeon and your nutritionist. However 50 pounds in 6 months isn't bad. Sounds like you are just at a stall.

    Garmin Devices

I have a Garmin Vivosmart HR and I love it. Much better than the fitbit.

    Official: FitBit Thread

I know this is a fitbit thread but I didn't like the fitbit at all. I thought the Garmin was a far better fitness tracker.

    Anyone get new ink?

Maybe this with the date of 20 Oct 2016 (the date of my surgery).

    Unrealistic expectations?

    Very well stated.

    NSV!!! 6 weeks Post-Op today!

I think just about everyone on this forum has hit the dreaded 3 week stall. It will pass. Don't get frustrated and try to keep a positive attitude.

    Before and after pic

WOW! You look great. Nice ink as well.
  20. Even though I have reached my surgeon's goal weight (and passed it) I still don't recognize myself in the mirror. I feel like I am looking at a stranger. I haven't been this weight since I came home from the desert in 1991.

In time, I suspect and hope you'll get used to it. I have the opposite problem, I look at myself now (pre-op) and don't recognize this overweight lady. In my head I'm still a fit, normal weight girl. I even think I can squeeze through small places and booths, etc. of which I do. LOL When I'm walking through a store and pass by a wall length mirror/column, it just baffles me that I'm overweight....or correct term, obese. So, with you, I hope you will recognize yourself for who you are NOW. The past is over. You are a new creation....run with it. :)

I didn't recognise myself at my heavy weight. 40lbs down, and it is like seeing an old friend in the mirror. Now, if I ever get close to goal (another 100lbs), not sure what will happen!

  21. So I have passed the goal weight that my surgeon has set for me. I was at my support group meeting last night and I asked one of the NUTS how do I go fro weight loss to maintenance and was told that my weight loss will slow down or stop when I am ready to switch to maintenance. WOW! I was thinking it was going to be more of an effort on my part (i.e. eating more to stop the weight loss). So I guess that I will just continue on with what I am doing and wait until my wife says that I am starting to look too skinny then start to up my calories. I have seen on here where people talk about a 10 pound bounce when they go from weight loss to maintenance. I guess I need to make sure I am at least 10 pounds under my surgeon's goal weight before I start to think about switching to maintenance.
  22. I went to see my surgeon yesterday for my 6 month check up. I have 1.4 pounds to lose to meet his weight loss goal. My official 6 months post op will be 20 April 2017. My surgeon and NUT are extremely happy with my progress and said that I have a greater chance of keeping the weight off due to my early success. I am so happy. I think that I should be at his weight loss goal before next Thursday. This was the best decision that I could have ever made. Who would have thought that being a loser could feel so good.
  23. Congratulations! You will be joining us on the loser's bench before you know it.

Did you have WLS? The audacity of some.

It could be worse. They could ask if you are sick. That is what happens to me.
