I start my liquid diet today and have my surgery on Thursday 20 Oct 2016. I got a reminder call on Friday for a pre surgery class today. I was never told about a pre surgery class. Oh well, it is a good thing I am teleworking today. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Yes, only three days. It was 5 days low calories (1000 - 1200) and 3 liquid. My surgery is more due to my uncontrolled diabetes, sleep apnea, high blood pressure and cholesterol. I woke up at 0100 hrs this morning craving a big custard donut.

OK, I don't know if this is true or not but I found this on a website: "the bypassed stomach remnant or body remains present because it still has important jobs to do – namely the production of digestive enzymes and juices and hormones which still play an important role in digestion and metabolism. That is a fantastic question. I know they remove it for the sleeve but for us RNY people they leave it in. I will have to research that.

It doesn't make me gassy. However I drink like 4 oz at a time because it's strong and at times I find it leaves a bit of a residue in my mouth. Not sure if it's because of the high Protein amount. It might just be me but it's like a film in my mouth if I drink too much. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I drink only 4 oz myself. I like the taste of my Protein powder. It makes me horribly gassy. Maybe it is just the powder that I am using?

Does the surgery help with the depression?

I was told the same thing. I went to Wally World and bought them. I think it was $5.00 for 60?

Maybe I should try this Isopure? Does it make you "gassy" like the meal replacement shacks?
