After surgery The surgeon took me off Amlodipine and halved my Losartan dose. At my 1 week post op appointment he said i should be able to go off that too in a couple months. I also stopped Metformin for diabetes right after surgery.

I've heard that the tired, "look of death" appearance goes away after a few months.
I'm only a few days post op, but I was already able to stop taking my diabetes meds and I take only half a dose of 1 of my previous 2 meds for high blood pressure. So no regrets for me!

I'm only 3 days post op. I know it's normal to go home from the hospital heavier because of all the iv fluids I received in the hospital. Im up 7 lbs and just wonder how long it takes to show a loss.

I'm over whey Protein shakes myself. I've started using plain soy Protein Powder with soy milk and 2 tbs of PB2. On Amazon, I buy Bulk supplements Pure Soy Isolate Protein Powder. I also learned about GENEPRO unflavored Protein supplement on this site. I ordered it but haven't gotten it yet. You can add it to anything and it isn't supposed to alter flavor or texture too much.

@@vegbeth I buy everything from Amazon, so that's good. I was wondering, as a vegan, once you can have regular foods, what will you eat to get your 60-80g Protein? Maybe continue with Protein Drinks?

@@vegbeth You're getting close! Very exciting. Tough time to be on a preop diet just before and over Christmas. Yes, keep in touch. Where are you having surgery?

St. Elizabeths is in Brighton, by Boston. I am from the South Shore though, most of my appts in Brockton, but my surgeon does all surgeries at St. Elizabeths.Suaniya, thank you! I'm sorry that I can't figure out how to reply with a quote. Where is St. Elizabeth? I'm starting my preop diet 12/29, a week before surgery.

Hope I'm doing this correctly. I'm actually from Plymouth but the program in Wareham was recommended to me. We should keep in touch.

@"Ginsin007" I think it'll be worth it. I'm not looking forward to wearing a wig, but there are a lot of nice, realistic ones out there. Think how good you'll feel when you're thin, healthy and energetic. It took me a whole year to realize that those benefits are worth sacrificing my hair. You've already invested a lot of money, another reason to go through with it. Good luck.

I had a great experience at Tobey Hospital. The nurses could not have been any nicer.
