I had 3 days of it and then it finally ended. I did find out during all this that apple juice has the same effect on me.

I've got just the opposite problem. I was banded 6 days ago and am on the soft diet (soups in a blender, Jello, pudding, Protein Shakes, etc) now and can barely eat 1/3 of a cup without feeling like I just finished Thanksgiving dinner. I am averaging 400 calories a day and the doctor said to try to get in 60 - 70 grams of protien a day - I can barely do 30. I have my first post op meeting with the doctor tomorrow and will have many questions, I was told I would have my first fill in about 2 weeks, but unless something changes drastically, don;t see that I will need one. I am retaining a lot of Water however, my legs and ankles are very swollen and according to the scale have gained 3 pounds since surgery - reading other threads I see this is somewhat normal though.

I'm 5 days post op and can not lie down at all, it hurts too much. A couple days in a recliner is ok, but how much longer will it be before I can lay down? anyone have an answer?
I always sleep on my side too and it hurts to even try to lay down.

As was already said, its from the gas they use to 'inflate you' to make it easier to view and work inside you.
Mine lasted about 2 days and was not too terrible, but was told to walk and walk and walk some more to get rid of it. That worked, the more I walked the better I felt.
