You are entitled to having feelings about this and as spouse you have merit voicing those same feelings. He has the right to hear what you say and make the decision. If he has the "fatty gene" even if he works out and eats right he may lose weight but.... the likelihood that he may gain it all back plus is there as well.
Try and look at the positive he will be able to enjoy all the things you now enjoy w you. Nothing will be holding him back. You can have a solid relationship while doing loads of fun kick ass things! And since you both will be eating less he can buy you more pretty things.
