  1. I had a car accident 10 days after my surgery inAugust so had more swelling than normal. I struggled for quite some time getting all my Protein, but the NUT just had me drink a shake a day in addition to foods I was able to eat. That gave me 30 g immediately.

My energy was horrible. At 4 weeks I biked and barely made 4 miles. At 10 weeks I went hiking and did20 miles one day and 10 on another. What a difference!

You'll get there. Give your body time to heal. Walking will help immensely!

  2. Last year I skipped because I had just started program and it would have been too hard.

Started the day today with a 3 mile run and 30 minutes of free weights. Then I started to cook.

My plate was small with only 2 oz of turkey breast and 1/2 cup roasted butternut squash & cauliflower. All the others ate all the stuff I couldn't, but it didn't bother me at all.

That will be you next year and you'll be proud of where you are! Just know the next few months will go by quickly.

  3. I had my sleeve on 8/3/2016 and turned 61 on 8/16. Preprogrammed I was 286.6, surgery date I was 220, and now I am 182.8.

I'm not loosing as fast as I'd like, but I run 3 miles every other day and do strength training 3 days a week. I could have never done that before.

Tell your mom you are never too old to become the healthy you you want to be. I'd do it all over again to be where I am today!

  4. My sleeve was 8/3/16 and I was told I'd be in 2 nights. However, I was in 3 nights because my bladder didn't wake up and I ended up being catheterized. Once I was able to pee, things happened quickly and I was discharged.

A woman in my support group did the sleeve as out-patient because she didn't have insurance. She did fine but had no complications.

  5. I wasn't off puréed food until my 6 week appointment. Even after that it was a soft food diet for another 6 weeks.

I'm 9 weeks out and have been going out with friends and my DH for about a month. I bring along a powdered Soup and get hot Water. Then I pay for an extra plate and usually take a little bit from my DH plate.

I'm still only eating about 3-4 ounces so if I do order my own meal I take most of it home and have leftovers for a few days.

  6. I was on clear liquids for 2 weeks, moved to puréed for another 2 weeks and then soft food diet now until 12 weeks out (I am currently at 9 weeks out).

I was able to do the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken broth already at the hospital the day after I was sleeved. It's available online. Just make sure your Water is less than 140 degrees or it lumps.

I also did a lot of sugar free Popsicles and Jello. This all counted toward my daily liquids.

  7. Just received several gift cards to Starbucks. I have not had any coffee but I was wondering. LATER ON much later (surgery 9/27) is there anything I can order at Starbucks? Or that I could add my Protein shake to? Thank you!

I have been able to have Decaf immediately after my surgery. I'm 9 weeks post-op and I have a decaf latte with soy or almond milk and one of the sugar free coffee syrups at Starbucks. Usually I do caramel. Of course no whip! I have no problem with this.
