Yea I hit my first stall at 2 weeks and it lasted 3 weeks. The scale just started moving again SLOWLY! someone suggested u measure because losing inches isn't always synonymous with losing weight.. and they were right ???? stick to your plan!Is it normal to hit a stall already after only 3 weeks??? Was losing good and then now the scale has not moved in almost a week. Lost 20lbs the first 2 weeks

I was so scared to fail! Honestly I just took it one day at a time..once I got the withdrawal headache I knew I was almost over the hump. I was on a liquid diet for my birthday and I just kept reminding myself that I was trading in 1 lousy birthday for a bunch of great ones. It will be over before u know it! Once u start to lose weight it will be easier to focus....YOU CAN DO THIS!I have to start my Preop diet tomorrow and scared I am not going to be able to do it. Has anyone had any trouble doing the preop diet? What helped you with those struggles?

My nutritionist said exess Protein will get stored as fat so I'm trying to figure out how to up the calories without adding too much protein ...trial and error I guess!I would just eat more Protein and I added some calories by baking my fish with Ghee early on.

I did an apparently eating clean gets u to your protein goal but not your caloric one. I was getting 80 g of protein at or about 700 calories..she wants me at 1200. I have decided to throw in a few extra items in my meal I just don't want to sacrifice protein for caloriesDid you talk to the doc about what you are eating? That could make all the difference right there. I know when I went from liquids to soft food, I was still doing a few shakes a day. That got me to my Protein goals, but they don't stick with a person like real food does. Moving away from them to more solid forms of Protein helped me out quite a bit. Your situation may be completely different, but your doctor or nutritionist should have some good answers for you.

Ok...so I have been trying to remain calm and stick to my plan, and I have. I have lost 18 lbs and I'm 6 weeks post op. I speak to my dr at my 6 wk follow up and apparently even though I'm hitting my Protein and Water goals...I'm not eating enough ...r u kidding. It seems like all I do is eat...so frustrating!!

I have an 8 and a 2 year old so I feel ya. I recovered from my c-section quickly and this wasn't worse. Trust me your going to be fine. Keep me posted and feel free to ask any questions!
That's relieving to hear. I've had a c-section and I recovered quite well. I get sleeved on Dec. 5 and I'm nervous about the recovery. I will have to jump right back in to my routine. I have a 5 year old and a 1 year old.I'm 4 weeks post and honestly it hurt more to have a c-section lol. I was nauseous from the anesthesia but by day 3 I was fine. It feels like the surgery was a lifetime ago. Relax and enjoy the ride....and the versed lol. Good luck and u will be fine...feel free to ask anything u think may help ease your mind!

I took 2 weeks off but I felt fine around day 3. I am 4 weeks out and I'm not supposed to lift my 2year old for at least another 2 weeks.

Warm liquids were easier for me day 1 and 2 but it's normal for it to feel that way. Walk as much as u can and do your breathing exercises. By day 3 I was fine and I never used my pain meds. You are going to do great???? congrats and we will see you on the losers bench VERY soon!

I will be 5 weeks out on Friday. I was allowed to eat pureed foods post op wk1 and soft foods week 2 & 3. I hit a stall on wk1..and now I'm stalled again...it's a bit discouraging considering people lose what I did in a wk vs my month????. I'm eating clean and supplementing with 1 shake a day to make goal. Usually along the lines of grilled chicken and steamed veggies. I can get about 2 oz of Protein and 1.5 oz per meal. Best of luck on your journey!

Nausea was the worst symptoms for me from the anesthesia...I had watched so many videos and built it up so much that I just anticipated the worst and hoped for the best. No one's journey will be identical to yours. Educate yourself and enjoy the ride ????

Hey everyone! Today starts my pureed stage and I started with some egg salad. It went down fine but I'm not sure what feels full at this point so I took some baby spoons in and closed up shop till I see how it goes. I did notice I hiccuped and have read that could be a soft sign that I'm done. Will full feel the same as it used to or should I just heed the hiccup warning lol? I'm supposed to do 1 1/2 oz of Protein and 1 oz of fruit of vegetable for my first meal but I don't want to push it....any advice?

I also couldn't do Water the first 3 days post op but everyday it got better. I am now post op day 8 (first day of pureed food..yay) sf crystal light at room temperature and warm broth got me through those first few days. As for me the issue with H2o dissipated with my swelling

Most people do but my surgeon didn't allow those till the night before surgery since I was told only Breakfast and lunch shake that day then clear till midnight. Unlike most I was allowed full liquids as soon as I got home and pureed food starting day 8.
I was told sugar free Jello and popsicleWhat should I buy other than Protein Shakes to get me through this tough week ahead?

Hey all! Well I was sleeved 10/21 even though I hoped for the best I expected the worst in terms of pain and all I've really delta with was the nausea from the anesthesia. I've been home since Saturday and the large incision feels tender but not painful. Yesterday I could barely get 30 oz of Water down but today has been better. I got 1 1/2 premier shakes down and 42oz of water..it's a struggle but I'm pushing through! How r u guys doing?

I was sleeved 10/21 and so far the liquid preop was the worst part lol. The first 3 days are rough but once u pass the withdrawal headache you will be fine. I was so scared to fail but just take it one shake at a time ...good luck to u guys ..it's worth it!

No no Jello ???? just Protein shakes...and a small salad...I'm just glad I get to chew on something once a day ????. I figure one crappy birthday in exchange for 365 wonderful days a year is a good trade right?

You look amazing but more importantly you seem to have learned to eat to live not live to eat! I hope I'm strong enough!

Hello all! I'm scheduled for a VSG on 10/21 in Celebration FL. I just started my 2 week preop liquid diet. I was due to start 10/7 but hurricane Matthew threw a wrench in that so today was my first day. My only anxiety with the preop diet is that my birthday is on Tuesday and I have no idea how I'm going to get a candle to stand still in my shake ! It hasn't been terrible but knowing I have to stay away from all food is rough especially when we decided to go out to eat while wandering around. I did good and only had the small salad I'm allowed. I hope this gets easier . I could use any and all moral support I can get!
