So... what do you fellas do?

I am a Senior bulk power grid operator, I sit in a control room for 12 hours a day (or night). Not much in the way of physical activity unless you count walking back and forth to the coffee pot or the bathroom!
  2. Fenton; Just the walking 1 mile each way to work every day you are already getting some excercise. Try walking at a faster pace to increase the intensity and also varying the route you take to go further. Few things are as good for you as walking and carrying your weight it is already at a high intensity. I always used to tell people they should try filling a duffel bag with 150-200 lbs of sand and carrying it and that was what I did for excercise. You are stronger than you know but will find this out as the weight comes down! Rick

    Activity during recovery

Hey Fenton; I only have one more group session to attend and then I will get my date. I will keep you posted as things progress. Glad to hear you have a manly scarred physique now. I myself am fairly macho with many scars on various areas as a true testament to my misspent and wreckless youth. I actually wish I could go back and not get a few! I had my Pysch eval yesterday and she said she had cleared me to go ahead so everything should happen soon. Keep up the good work and keep me appraised of your progress! Later------ bigrick

Can't wait for my new life to begin....

The band, like this forum are tools to help us get to where we need/want to be. I visit this site almost every day seeking the inspiration that I need from all of you that have gone before me. Thank you to each and every one that has or will! My heartfelt congratulations.

    Activity during recovery

I attended my first of 2 required group meetings last night and my Wife came with me even though she is having a rough time since her Mom passed away a little over a week ago. She is very supportive about all this. Glad to hear you are recovering well and managed to get out to the Movies. I am a Huge movie fan myself but prefer to view them in the comfort of my own home. Keep up the good work and I look forward to being great gains for you going forward.

    Activity during recovery

A few more hoops to jump thru before I get a date. The usual, pysch eval, a few group attendances(2), Nutrisionist, etc., all requirements of the Insurance Co., should only be a few more weeks as I have them all scheduled and then hopefully a Date for the Band!

Well I had my initial consult and got the laundry list of things to get done before I can get an actual surgery date. I will try to get them done as quickly as I can so I can get on with things.

I was competing until I was 40 years old and then had to quit after my 3rd surgery. Elbow, knee and shoulder, but I dont regret it as I truly loved being a human bulldozer. Now mostly I hike a lot with my dogs, at least until I took a fall just after thanksgiving and broke my leg(small bone, Fibula?) just finally feeling 100% again but now the snow keeps me inside. But yes I still have a ravenous appetite that hopefully the LB will help with and from what I have read here it should. I am looking forward to it.
