Bariatric Sleeve-4 weeks post op
BuffaloBill replied to Tony22's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yea those numbers on pizza are horrible... honestly guys make it yourself. The cauliflower crust or the Fathead are both easy to make after you do them once... those nutritional numbers change dramatically and you can dress the pizza up anyway you'd like Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app -

Calling all October sleevers!!
BuffaloBill replied to Detroit_25's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thats ridiculolusly low ..... Including your liquids your only taking in 400-600 calories a day ?? Im really active I could never operate on that I wouldnt even want to try. I take in 100g of protein a day in shakes or smoothies alone. -

I definately hit the 3 weeks stall. Havent lost anything in about a week. I watched a very informative video on YouTube from a bariatric surgeon named Dr. V about working out Post-Op. Your/My body isnt taking in enough calories to make working out productive. Walking for 20-30 mins is ok cause that speeds up your heart and will burn fat but anything else will burn muscle cause the body will go into starvation mode and eat your muscle. Dr Duc C Vuong check out the video on Working out after Gastric Sleeve. Now this all depends on your caloric intake. Now that ive moved on too soft foods I can only take in 1200 calories at most a day. Thats all my sleeve will fit . -

I had a complete stall at 3 weeks. Ive lost 15 to get down to 230 since surgery. I have a totally different outlook on working out after watching Dr V's Videos on YouTube about working out. I was a total gym rat before the surgery losing 30 lbs in 7 months. I tried to be a gym rat starting 8 days after surgery and I still hit a big time stall. Im not taking in enough calories to supply my body with the tools to grow muscle and lose fat. So im taking awhile off too see if I start losing quicker.. Check out Dr. Duc C Vuong Working out after Gastric Sleeve -

Up and down also . I started hitting the gym Day 8 post op. I watched a great video on Youtube by a Bariatric doctor that emphasized not going to the gym for the first 3 mos. Im gonna give it a try and see what happens cause im definately at a stall. -
I have had terrible back/lung pain the past couple days. Im 23 days post op for the sleeve and I havent had 1 problem yet. Im just getting a little worried about what it can be. Maybe gas ? I can feel a pain when i breathe in ... I also was hanging pictures and working around the house earlier it could easily be a pulled back muscle. Any opinions or experiences ???

Yeah.. glad I know it now. Didn't know it back when my brother was sick. He reported an O2 level of 78, which didn't mean anything to me.. ended up dying. If I KNEW, I would have begged he go to ER, and maybe things could have turned out differently. (He had a blood clot in the lung that his doc thought was asthma).

Omg thats terrible. sorry to hear that. Yea I try to stay on top of my health. I dont want anything to catch me off guard. My oxygen level was 97%. So glad I have a sensor on my phone for heartbeat and oxygen level. With those 2 and blood pressure I should never be surprised now. Hopefully

Sweet! I'm always happy to hear when people take charge of their health. There isn't nearly enough of that in our society...

Husband told people about surgery
BuffaloBill replied to M.A.'s topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yea , honestly I find it very disrespectful for people to go tell somebody without getting permission to do so first. It's almost like they're trying to take a jab at u. It's nobodys business but yours and it should be totally on you who knows and who doesnt. I really don't know how I'm gonna act when some smart ass says hey u look good but didn't u get that weight loss surgery. Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app -
Have u started hitting the gym yet ??? It's a great way to help all those things that are bothering u Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app

This is a great way too put it. People are so uneducated and Presumptuous now days. Literally all you have to do is Google VSG surgery and it breaks it right down in the first click option. It's gonna take work and anybody that loses over 100 lbs or around there mad serious changes to they're life and with VSG surgery there's no going back. Your on a great track... just go into surgery as healthy a possible. We're all being honest, I had 1 binge day like 4-5 days before surgery but that was it. U definately want to go into surgery with your stomach and digestive system feeling healthy I'm sure that's why so many people have the Pre-op diet. My surgeon didn't but going in healthy I know made my recovery easier. Good luck ! Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app -
When will hunger go away?
BuffaloBill replied to LoBMI VSGguy46's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yea don't worry man I'm 18 days post op and I've definately lost my hunger. If i was only getting 900-1200 calories before surgery I would be absolutely starving. I'm fine with that now. It didn't kick in till like day 14. But it definately will. For the couple weeks post op you probably still have ghrelin in there. It goes away. Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app -

Bruno DM me. I can be a great deal of help . I am a 37 yr old male and I live alone... my mom brought me home from surgery and stayed with me till about 10pm the day I was released. She wanted to stay the night but I told her to go home and sleep in her own bed. I've been taking care of myself basically since I was released from the hospital. It's doable. Your not gonna want to leave for I'd say 2-3 days post op. Just rest and let the body heel at home.. Get rid of ALL the food in your house cause u can't even touch any of it for like a month. Stock up on Sugar free popsicles, SG free jello, and SG free pudding. Also buy the GENPRO unflavored protein and mix it with the pudding.. You'll be fine on your own unless u have another handicap not mentioned. I went back to the gym and felt good doing so on Day 8 Post op. Try to document as much as u can..also get reading material or find some new shows to leave. Cause it gets really boring at home Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app -

In the city I live in Everybody knows me . I used to own 2 nightclubs and I bartended all over the city. I'm not telling anybody but I know people will talk and will find out . I don't know how I'm gonna react when people ask me or assume they know. As a matter of fact I started a new Instagram just for VSG. Somehow a couple people from my regular Instagram friend requested me under my new vsg name. How they did that I have no clue. But I don't want the whole city knowing my personal business. I'm also single so I have nobody to share this with.. Single by choice tho.. Not looking till I'm happy with myself Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app -

I have a really similar story to you. Here's where I'm at... I'm a 37yr old 5'7 male. I too lost 35 lbs Pre Op and the 7-8 mos before surgery. I had surgery on OCT 5th. I'm doing great... Heaviest Weight=280 My Surgery Weight was 245 and it's 16 days post op and I'm 230. I have a ton of muscle on my body I have lifted weights since I was 16 yrs old. You will see the restriction when u get too the pureed food stage very soon. Don't worry the hunger/gherlin does go away... You will realize eating has to completely change now. There's alot of people with surgery scheduled this week in here !!! Good Luck everybody. I'm on Day 16 post-op. Half Pureed Foods half liquids... The 1st week sucks but it rapidly gets better. It's just a constant climb from the minute you wake up from anaesthesia. Go into surgery as healthy as possible. Right now my numbers are SW=280 CW=230 GW=180.. I've lost 15 lbs since surgery Oct 5th. So there's something too look forward too. Only weight yourself once a week tho... It's too many emotions to deal with if you do it everyday...
