    How much can you eat?

I mostly eat 4-6 oz of rotisserie chicken. Breakfast consists of bacon!!! and cheese. For snacks I usually have cheese or some kind of nut mix.

    I regret this surgery

ha! No, you got that all wrong. But you continue to prove to be toxic.

    I regret this surgery

No, you basically told her shes not allowed to express remorse. I read your post, you were judgmental, rude and chastised her for daring to speak negatively while you are waiting for the surgery.

Am I in Bizzaro Land?? So many judgmental people!!!! Holy CRAP.

    I regret this surgery

Wow, that was a lot of judgement coming from someone who has no idea where that other woman is coming from. So because you want the surgery nobody is allowed to express any form of regret or suffering?

    I regret this surgery

oh I hear you!!! I was in full blown regret at your stage, I cried for a week. It's not easy, You WILL find your new normal, you will enjoy life again and you WILL feel like a normal person. I was in misery at your point. I was so sad and scared and worried and full of "What did I do, at least I had food to keep me happy before!" But it got better, you will feel better. Try having some mashed potatoes. I'm not kidding. Some carbs and fats, it was on my approved list. It helped me realize I WILL get to live like a "normal" person again.

Feeling so sick and in pain

How are you feeling today? If you are still feeling like you were in so much pain and you can't move without agony, I recommend contacting your surgeon's office. Sometimes just talking to them can help you feel reassured, or maybe they have something that can help. Good luck to you, I'm really sorry you're feeling so bad.

    Help please!

The pain passes, the happiness stays. You will be okay, I promise! It is painful, you just had major surgery, I couldn't get in and out of bed by myself for a week. But again it all gets so much better, this is so worth it! I'm so sorry you're in pain, and I'm so sorry that you are suffering, but it will and you will feel amazing very soon. Took me about two months to be fully back into the swing of things, but I had the vertical gastric sleeve, my gallbladder removed, and a large hiatal hernia repaired. Most people are back to themselves within 2 to 4 weeks.

    hair loss after surgery

I've been really good about hitting my protein numbers, Im at almost 11 months postop. I think there's a couple different factors. I think genetics, nutrition, and possibly luck. I don't think there's any way to determine who it could happen to anyone isn't going to happen to.

What Foods Haven't You Given Up Yet?

I have 1/4 C mint chocolate chip Breyers ice cream. Sometimes I have it every day, sometimes I don't have it for weeks on end. That's 75 cal and 9 g of sugar. Before the surgery I would eat a whole pint of haagen das peanut butter chocolate ice cream. But I also added in extra exercise every time if you have it. I already exercise at least an hour and a half a day, if I have the ice cream I add an extra 15 to 20.

    Working out

there was another poster recently who was doing 10K steps each day and was passing out - at one week post op-, not knowing why. We were all like, GIRL!!! You are doing WAY too much WAY too soon! lol! She called her doc and yup, cut down her walking by half and increased her carbs. No more passing out. lol! But some people need to do their own thing and figure out what works for them.

    Working out

Walking is great!! Walking is exactly what they want you to do.
  15. Well, you are only 1 week post op, the lethargy sounds about right, I wasn't able to go back to work for 2 weeks so maybe it's a little soon for you? Also, how many calories are you getting a day? Are you hitting your protein & water goals? You said your surgeon's office blew it off, my recommendation is to call them back and tell them just how miserable you are again, that you aren't keeping fluids down and you can't hit any of your numbers, maybe they will listen if you call them back? The reaction to drinking anything (and I am assuming you mean water or a protein shake/soup) is worrisome. If they won't listen to you you can always just go to an ER, let them know you aren't getting in your fluids, the surgery you had and the lightheadedness, they will probably get you on IV fluids.

    Working out

I've lost almost 100 lbs in 10 months, I PROMISE you it did not fall off magically. I was not allowed any exercise AT ALL for 16 WEEKS. lol! I promise promise promise you that waiting 2 weeks, or whatever your doctor recommends, for doing exercises that could tear your incisions will NOT derail you, especially when you are committed like this. It's just not worth it, you could end up in the hospital. For even some TMI, I was constipated in my 6th week. I took a laxative. Just the muscle spasms alone caused me to reinjure myself. I couldn't walk standing straight for almost a week and it pushed back my recovery by at least two weeks. So I do speak from experience. I don't want you to feel discouraged. I'm 10 months out, I do yoga every day, I run/walk 5-7 miles a day and I run 50 flights of stairs a day. You will be able to do all you want to do soon and that fat WILL start dropping off, I promise!!!

    Stubborn Fat

I do internet searches for those exercises. I use 2 lb weights and do circles and things with my arms as I'm walking, follow a lot of the arm exercises as I run on the treadmill as well.

    Reset???

You aren't even a year out, I don't think they would do a reset that soon, would they? I think what you aught to do is look at your food intake, protein, carbs, fats, sodium, etc. Use one of the apps. Then also track your steps and make sure you are getting your 10K a day. How are you doing on your water? I think that maybe you can just refocus yourself and get back on track rather than going through another procedure so soon. What do you do to maintain your diet and exercise? Are you tracking stuff? If you list/copy from the app what you eat and drink in a day and your exercise stuff we can probably help you dial it to something that will be more effective for you.

    Working out

IMO? It's a horrible idea to do squats. Walking at a reasonable pace for a few thousand steps is fine but anything more than than less than two weeks out of surgery? Nah, the chance you take to opening your incisions on the inside is just too risky. You have months and years to work out, a whole lifetime!! Take a few weeks post surgery to allow yourself to heal. And of course, talk to your surgeon's office about this stuff, my advice could be 100% different than your doctors. They are the ones you should ask.

Will my taste buds ever go back to normal?

Nuts and cucumbers (with skin, without they are better) are pretty dense, I don't think I was able to handle any nuts till I was 12 weeks out. So you are doing great on that end! Sounds like digestion won't be a problem for you. Looks like you only can eat 2 things, as long as you are staying out of the hospital I don't really have any other suggestions for you besides to just try stuff. If nothing at all will work than hopefully you are fine nutritionally with protein water, cucumbers and ranch.

Will my taste buds ever go back to normal?

The more time I heal the more I tolerate and can eat. I wasn't able to eat much until I was 3 months out. Then I started trying the more dense proteins. I have hated eggs most of my life, post surgery I still couldn't stand them. 2 weeks ago I tried again and...I liked them!! Will your taste preferences change? Probably. Will they change in a direction you can predict? Nope. Stick with your protein shakes and getting in the nutrition you need using those methods your body can handle right now. I'm 10 months out and still trying out foods. Some work, some don't. Bacon and Chicken are the 2 proteins I can eat with ease. Not regular Pork, not beef, not fish, not much seafood (except shrimp and crab, yay!!). Have you tried seafood? Fish is often the go-to for many post ops. Scallops, shrimp, crab, all tender and easy on the body. You just gotta keep up with the stuff that does work and keep trying periodically on the stuff that doesn't. If you aren't getting enough liquids or protein in a day, you should contact your surgeon's office.

Help! I feel sick all the time

You should always contact your surgeon's office with something like this right away. The best place for you to get help is with them. Please contact them ASAP, or just go to an ER.
