This might sound counter productive, and check with your doc, but when I did 14 months on my liquid diet we would run into these phases and sometimes the trick is to slightly increase your caloric intake. The body is freaking out, it might give up more energy/weight if you feed it a few more calories. Also make sure you are hitting your Water goals, and then some. Check sodium levels on your food and make sure the levels are good so you don't retain too much. And keep moving, walk walk walk walk! Lol!! Hang in there, it WILL start dropping again. I have a question
LittleLizzieLilliput replied to marissahealthiernewme's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
For me? It's deal with the emotions. I'm forced to feel them. I cry, get angry, feel sad or rejected. I put myself in private and feel. I often then have to address the issue. I've found that the only way to deal with emotional eating is to feel the emotions instead. Which sucks but I feel like it's part of my journey. To do the emotional maturing that eating and addiction allowed me to avoid when life was really hard. -
Anyone have young kids?
LittleLizzieLilliput replied to Alistmurf's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My VGS surgery included gallbladder removal, and a stomach and hernia repair. I'm not recovering as quickly as most describe here. Only this morning did I wake up without pain. I still need the pain Meds and I'm gonna go back to work slowly next week. I don't know if my recovery is slower because of all that work done or if it's because I've been very ill the past 8 months leading up to my surgery. I feel like, based on what I've read from folks, you are more likely to be feeling pretty good within like 5 days. Good luck!!!!! Hoping for only a swift and easy recovery for you. I cheated... 13 day post op
LittleLizzieLilliput replied to itzbrittaanyx3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In a way it's good you feel so guilty or bad, that way you aren't feeling satisfied and will be less likely to do it again. But don't beat yourself up too much Think of it as a lesson, not as a cheat. And be kind to yourself, let yourself off the hook and go over your lists of why you are doing this. For me it's so I can ride roller coasters with my nieces & nephews, so I can fly without fear of not fitting my seat, so I can walk up to a mirror with pride, etc. Remember this is a journey about loving and caring for yourself. Try to focus on all the pleasures in life you are getting closer to enjoying. Hang in there!! You can do this!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I'm gonna be on puréed foods next week and I am so nervous about puréed meets! Lol, I'm not sure I can eat chicken with the texture of applesauce. Stupid question, is it 2-4 oz weight or measured? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Spanx or abdominal bands?

I got two from the hospital. They aren't labeled. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
You can do this, you are so much stronger than you think. The hard part of adjusting will be over soon and then you're gonna start feeling so good. Walking faster because you can, bouncing on your feet, rubbing your hand down your arm and noticing how strong and slender it feels. You'll remember the joys of movement from childhood. The light will feel more golden and you will feel so much better about this. Your eating life isn't over, it's metamorphosing along with you. Hang in there love, you can do this! Did anyone else have an easy recovery? I'm getting downright paranoid....
LittleLizzieLilliput replied to ella37's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Enjoy the gift!! I feel I'm getting it pretty easy as well, I have pain and some difficulty swallowing things that are too hot or cold but none of the scary stuff i'd heard about. I hope it keeps this way for you!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Gastric bypass still on full liquid I want to eat applebees
LittleLizzieLilliput replied to fluffy n fit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What other app have you found? I'm getting intimidated by the aggressive tenor here. I'm all about love and support and am sensitive. If you've found something else I'd love to check it out. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App It would probably be better to find a real life support group. The internet is rarely a good place for sensitive people. Also, medical questions are best directed to your medical team. Asking strangers on the internet if you can ignore your surgeon's advice is never going to end well.I don't think I'm wrong for expecting adults to interact with people in a kind and supportive manner, being sensitive shouldn't mean I can't participate. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Nobody said you cant. But dont expect others to walk on eggshells because you are. If you cant or dontnwant to, thats your choice and nobody else made that choice for you. Sent from my SM-G930P using the BariatricPal App How did this turn into you scolding me? You're the one jumping in on me asking the other poster for her forum suggestion. Its ok. You can let me be and I will let you be. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

No more weight loss
LittleLizzieLilliput replied to cheryl417's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm also on insulin and am 7 days post op. I worked with my endocrine specialist on a post operative plan. I had to stop all my diabetic meds and rarely take insulin these days with the lack of carbs. I know it's so hard and I'm sorry this is such a struggle for you but as folks are saying you must change your habits to change your weight. What Protein supplement are you using? There are a lot of tasty options. Do you have a written diet plan that mapped out everything post surgery? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

What has been the hardest part of your journey thus far?
LittleLizzieLilliput replied to xoxococojay's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The hardest part for me is convincing myself that this doesn't mean I'm giving up food. I did a liquid diet for 16 months and my emotions and fears were telling me that this means doing that for life. But it's SOOO not! It's the opposite of that. It's to allow me to keep a relationship with food, only slightly changed. My brain kept trying to throw a tantrum of panic but I muscled through and now I'm excited for this next year. Sleeved on 10/10, healing well, excited for my life to change. Hell, maybe I'll finally go to Europe!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
What was your "last" meal?
LittleLizzieLilliput replied to lgivaudan's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had a lot of medical issues and haven't been able to eat much since February. I had McDonald's breakfast twice. But for me this surgery means I can MORE variety than I've been able to for over a year. So I'm excited for 6 months from now. I was Sleeved on 10/10. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
That's a really shitty thing to have done and I understand your upset and confusion. I'd be fixated on this and it would f-up my feelings and attitude for a little while. Make sure to get extra hugs from your kids and make some mean spirited jokes about her. That's what would try to do to get over it. Lol! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Not eating and drinking simultaneously, this is a hurtle!
LittleLizzieLilliput replied to LittleLizzieLilliput's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh!! Ok! That is a new look at it, thank you! And to the other poster about how all Im taking in now is liquid...lol! I totally forgot that it is considered liquid. But you are right that it's good I practice now. Thanks everyone! I so excited with how well I'm feeling this many days out. Just don't want to overdo it or screwup.
