Puréed stage recipes.
LittleLizzieLilliput replied to Sammy1991's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
so do you puree the refried beans? Do you get bad gas? And scrambled eggs, they don't have to be pureed do they?? Cause I can try them! -
Knowing when to stop
LittleLizzieLilliput replied to mollydeez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am struggling really hard with this as well. Additionally I've had really bad acid reflux and now my whole throat hurts everyday now. I just posted a thread asking what people's eating schedule is to try and get some inspiration. Right now I hover at 60 grams of Protein a day and 450 calories per day. I'm in the pureed stage but I'm struggling with it as 2 ozs is all I can barely do and the acid is so bad I suffer. I'm also having transient nausea which SUCKS. I really look forward to the days that I'm not in pain, feeling sick, tired or have a burning stomach/throat. lol! I know it's not far away but this is difficult. Oh, and constipation is SOO much fun right now. lol! -

I did, 12 days ago along with my gallbladder and sleeve. It does take alittle more time to get back into the swing of things. Watch how u bend and pick things up Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App Hey! I had a three as well on 10/10. Took me three weeks to heal to the point I can get back to working. I had to get extra pain meds and felt my recovery took so much longer than other folks talk about here. I still can't do everything yet. How are you feeling? Any nausea, trouble eating? I'm 21 days post Op today and I don't feel hunger anymore either. -
yeah, I'd say No to the beer due to the carbonation. I think the general consensus I've seen is this - Enjoy a glass of wine now and then once your surgeon has cleared you, remember that you are drinking some calories that aren't optimal but at the same times we all need to live and enjoy our lives. If having just one glass every week or two is what you are looking for, I think thats what a lot of people do. I have seem some trying to shame posters for even thinking or asking about alcohol but ignore them. Listen to your doctor and do what is right for you!

3 week Post Op
LittleLizzieLilliput replied to kyboo1972's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is fantastic, congratulations!! I don't know if I've had the "one spoonful too many". I have so many different sensations. lol! I'm able to easily put in my 2oz of chicken salad puree so that's exciting. lol! It's a weird road we are on and I don't understand most of the internal sensations I have right now but I look forward to understanding them soon. lol! -
Swelling
LittleLizzieLilliput replied to facebro29's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 3 weeks out and still have to be careful of my abdomen area. I still wear the brace and have to hold the area walking. I can bend over no problem but if I'm bent at the waist for a longer period of time I start to feel like I'm gonna hurl. Regular healing time is like 6 weeks I think so I'm not really worried till after that time period. I feel like I might be a little further along than you but not by much! -
Will I be broken forever?
LittleLizzieLilliput replied to kjkashmaniac's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope work went well for you! It does get better, thats the god's honest truth. This is a hard step psychologically. We have altered our body and permanently changed how it, and we, work. Emotionally this is a massive thing to accept and move on from. You are mourning your old life, you are healing, you are dealing with something HUGE that most people will never understand. I think hugging your dog and getting some major love from him might be a huge help for you. I can't begin to tell you all the amazing things waiting for us along the way as we make our journey but it will be so much better and full of wonder than you can imagine right now. Hang in there, you can do this!! You did the right thing, even if it feels like misery and a mistake at this moment. -
Nausea - Surgery 10/10, last week I started getting transient nausea
LittleLizzieLilliput replied to LittleLizzieLilliput's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unfortunately it often happens when I have nothing in my stomach. I don't drink fast or big gulps - I've been trying to be exactly by the book. lol! I thought maybe the nausea could be because of the lack of intake because it often happens when I haven't had anything in a little while. -
Nausea - Surgery 10/10, last week I started getting transient nausea
LittleLizzieLilliput posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I started getting some transient nausea. I have anti-nausea pills so that is good but I wanted to discuss with you guys what I think the cause is - if it continues or gets worse of course I will call my surgeon. But I'm not at that stage yet so I wanted to discuss it here. I feel like the cause could be lack of eating. I've just started moving to the pureed food and I'm getting so many more calories in, but I only started that this weekend. Is it possible this nausea is due to lack of caloric intake? I'm really getting very little on the full liquid stage as I stay away from all carb/sugars and was only doing the Protein meals, like 5 a day, so I was well under 800 calories a day. Could it be from anything else? I am having a lot of acid, which I did discuss with my surgeon. I do find I have a bout of nausea after taking my crushed pills too. Just trying to work this out. I don't want to go back to my 24/7 nausea pills that I was on prior to surgery (Gallbladder). I'm not big on Ginger either so that suggestion won't work for me. Thanks in advance!!!! -

Protein supplements - What is the highest # of protein with the lowest volume to have to drink?
LittleLizzieLilliput posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm struggling to get in all my Proteins. I'm in my 3rd week post-op and right now can only get in close to 75 and that's with working at it all day. I'm also scared to go into the pureed stage without figuring out how to get my max Protein in. So I'm thinking that if I can find the highest levels of protein in the lowest volume of liquid I might be able to get this all in. I have Premier Protein at home which is 30 grams protein in 11oz liquid. The problem is it makes me ill so far so I can't drink it yet. Any suggestions? I'm scared for my hair. lol! -

LittleLizzieLilliput replied to LittleLizzieLilliput's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you, that's great advice! Oh, I'm not limiting my liquids. I'm trying to get more protein in less volume of liquid but I'm well over my water requirements for each day. My issue is that I love water and am struggling with everything else but the water. lol! -
I was able to get all 8 oz's down in about 1 hour and then I was in miserable discomfort for 2 days. I would say you are just lucky and that you don't have as much swelling right now. I think you would feel a lot of pain and discomfort if you were stretching out your pouch. I'm no expert but I don't' think you should be too concerned. If anything just try to avoid eating all of it in one sitting. Set up your own limits and that way you won't be scared you are overdoing it. Hang in there and congrats on eating it and not feeling sick!! You don't know it but that makes you lucky and awesome!

1 month post op- sleeve
LittleLizzieLilliput replied to StephanieS06's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Also remember that this is a marathon, not a sprint. Some weeks you will drop large amounts, others just a bit. The body losing large amounts of weight is a mystical landscape filled with ups and downs. As everyone is saying, make sure you drink as much Water as possible, keep your sodium down, your walking up and try to stay positive knowing that as long as you are doing all the right things this will happen and your life is changing. Don't worry, you will get past this and you will be so happy! -

2 weeks post VGS, I had a premier protein and felt quite ill after, is it too soon?
LittleLizzieLilliput posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be moving to puréed after seeming my doc on Wednesday I think. I wanted to try the premiere Protein drink because it has double the protein Im currently getting. But afterwards I felt quite ill. Lasted about 40 minutes. Is it just too soon? It seemed simple and within my surgeons guidelines. But since it's the first I've felt like this I thought I'd check with you guys. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
